Guest guest
Sri Hari Bhaktas, Sri Puthige Swamiji and group will be in Allentown till the afternoon of August 8 (Sunday) after which they are moving to New York for the chathurmasa which ends on September 25. The original plan was for Swamiji and group to observe chathurmasa in Allentown but the devotees from New York who came to Allentown last weekend for Sri Jayatheertha Aradhane had requested Swamiji to spend chathurmasa in New York and Swamiji has now accepted their request. The contact person and the host family for Swamiji and group for chathurmasa in New York is Dr. Nalini Paddu, 325 Circle Road, Mutton Town, NY 11791 in Long Island, tel 516-496-3876. Swamiji and group will perform in our house in Allentown Sri Sudharsana Homa on August 7 (Saturday) at 8:30 am followed by Mudra Dhaarana. Maha Pooja will be around 11 am. Since August 7 is ekadasi, there will be no theertha prasada but a simple palahara will be available for the non-fasting devotees. Since in the last weekend there was an impromptu, informal, interesting spiritual discussions with Swamiji at the end of Sri Keshav Rao's talk which was enjoyed by all present, an informal, Questions & Answers session with Swamiji will be organized in the afternoon. In the evening, about 8 pm, there will be a special thotillu pooja with Harivaana Seva with singing and dancing with Hari Dasa songs in which all devotees can participate. Next day (Sunday), due to Dwadasi, the Maha Pooja will be around 5 am with Dwadasi Paarane / theertha prasada at about 7:30 am. We invite devotees to participate in these activities and try to recapture and relive the elevating moments of the last weekend. Once again, for the out of town devotees, our house is available for overnight stay on both August 6 (Friday) and August 7 (Saturday). Please get in touch with me if you plan on participating in these activities. Namaskara Bindu
Guest guest
Dear Srinivasan, It's a great idea. We are ready for it. Sri Sriprasad has raised a query. We also feel the same way for Sri Bindu Madhavan & fmly. But as you clearly pointed out about the importance of this Ekadashi, we are left with a wavering mind.Anyway, we are ready for anything you people decide. Let us stick on to one person's decision. By the time the thottulu pUja gets over it will be 10 pm. The maha puja starts at 5 am the next morning. We need to start having bath etc. from 3 am. So a jagarane of only 5 hrs (from 10 to 3) can be done easily. This will be a very rare opportunity. What do you all say? Spread the word around the DC area. Guest guest
Dear Sri BinduMadhavan, If jagarane on Ekadashi night is fine for you, then everybody can stick on to that idea. It is a great idea of having an upanyasa by Sri Vadishachar on saturday. We are in for it. Once again, we are very much thankful to you, your family & Sri Srinivasan & fmly for giving us an oppurtunity to attend the function at your place. We are looking forward to seeing all of you on saturday. Regards, Hemant & Tara. ---------- MADHAVAN,G V. Also, it took only a few hours after the function last week to clean up the house since many volunteers helped us out before departing our house. Like what Srinivasan mentioned, these are golden opportunities and let us utilize them to the fullest. We never know when again we will get this kind of opportunity. Rama Srinivasarao from Washington D.C and Hemant from NJ have so far confirmed their participation. The rest of you please do likewise. Dinner will be ready for people arriving on Friday evening. One another idea. How about upanyasa by Sri Vadisachar on Saturday? Yesterday, imprompto, Sri Vaadisachar talked for a couple of hours about some aspects of Mahabharata and Ramayana in our family room after the evening pooja and all our family members were spell-bound and impressed. We went to bed with so much peace around midnight after listening to Sri Vaadisachar! Namaskara. As long as you don't mind the little discomfort, it is not a problem. Just think for a while....when are we going to have this unique opportunity again? Singing His glory infront of Madwacharya karArchitha Sri Vittala devaru, by ordinary souls like us, infront of an ordained swamiji, that too on an ekAdasi day during the sacred chAtur mAsa, with sAtvik souls like you all? This should be the day for which we are born for! Sri swamiji has brought the sacred Vittala devaru all the way for us. Come one and all, let us enjoy His presence and praise Him to our little heart's content. idhu bhAgya, idhu bhAgya, idhu bhAgyavaiya padhumanAbhana pAdha bhajana sukavaiyya Hare Srinivasa > ---------- > Sripi[sMTP:Sripi] > Tuesday, August 03, 1999 7:51 PM > SrinivasGV; srinivasan; rrachuri; sudhindra.yapalparvi; vmurthy; MADHAVGV; TaraHemant; rbatni; kesava.padipatri > Re: Sri Puthige Swamiji > > Dear Srinivasan > > This is a fantastic idea.
