Guest guest
krishNabhaktas, As you must have read by now, sri sri puthige swamiji has arrived in the US. Sri jayatheerthara Aradhane took place at sri Bindu Madhvan's residence in Allentown, PA last weekend with sri puthige swamiji leading the celebrations. The atmosphere was full of devotion, poojas, devara nAma singing, philosophical discussions transporting the devotees to a different spiritual world. sri puthige swamiji suggested that a children's conference be held in the NY area during the labor day weekend (Sept. 4-6). There was an enthusiastic response from the people at the conference. Couple of volunteers were chosen to be coordinators for this event. They are RamA srinivAsa Rao (Seema.Rao)- Washington area, Bhavani Rao and Mrs. GururAja Rao (bhavi11)- NY area, Geetha Muralidhar (maanasa)- Detroit area and Aravind Acharya (AsifJah)- NY area. The objectives for the conference are to teach children about mAdhva and Hindu religion, its practices and principles in a fun and enjoyable way. Children from 6-20 are welcome. sri puthige swamiji has conducted similar camps which were very successful in India. sri puthige swamiji is very good at working with and inspiring children and teaching spiritual values to them. The program details are still being worked out. These will include games and Yoga, religious story & stotra sessions, talent sessions, fun and games. Please let the coordinators know if you are interested in attending the event by August 9th. The announcement by ramA srinivAsa Rao is attached below. Regards, Vasu ------- [vmsvolunteers] children's conference Wed, 4 Aug 1999 10:05:05 -0400 Seema.Rao vmsvolunteers vmsvolunteers Seema.Rao Namaskara to all VMS volunteers. As everyone know, Swamiji proposed a children's conference during the labor day weekend (Sept 4-6) to be held in New York area. This is completely focussed on Children with varying ages upto 20. VMS finalized the program dates and prepared a list of coordinators, as posted by Vasu Murthy, couple days ago. I am also one of the volunteer coordinators from Washington area and on behalf of volunteer coordinators, I would like to request all of VMS members take few minutes to respond to this mail regarding the attendance of children and their age. Any madhwa families who are not currently members of VMS should be encouraged to obtain a membership and attend the conference. Based on the attendance, programs can be coordinated. Any tips and suggestions to make the conference interesting and enjoyable for kids are welcome. thank you, Rama Srinivas -
Guest guest
Dear Shri Vasu Murthy, Thanks a lot for organizing children conference. I think we can announce this in the dvaita list also. I understand that there are many in dvaita list who are not in VMS for one or other reason. But many of them may be interested in this conference. Also I feel we can announce in news groups ( Vaishnava, Hindu etc) also. There may be many, interested in this conference whom we don't know. So I would appreciate if the message is published in all possible forums, unless you want to limit the numbers for some reasons.
