Guest guest Posted August 9, 1999 Report Share Posted August 9, 1999 Dear Sri Krishna Bhaktas, It was due to Sri Hari's Grace, Sri Jayatheertha Aradhane took place in Allentown a week ago. There was support for this function from many people in many ways and it was truely a combined effort. While we had utilized all the dravyas (like groceries etc) given to us by the devotees, quite a few people who attended the Aradhane also insisted that I should accept financial contributions too for the function to mitigate some of our expenses. When I told them to give the money to Swamiji they said that this was on the top of what they had already given to Swamiji. I was very reluctant to accept financial help but then relented to please the people who had offered. Thus, a total of $750 had been given to me as personal checks and I was thinking for the past one week as to what to do with this unsolicited money. I think it is appropriate to send this money to Sri Jayatheertha Brindavana in Malkede as a small token of our seva to Sri Jayatheertharu. Would someone please advice me the mailing address of Sri Uthiradi Matha in Bangalore to which I can mail my check. Since this check is in US dollars, it is better to send to Bangalore rather than Malkede. It may be a good idea to include a couple of photographs of the function in this communication and we would appreciate any of you who had shot pictures to send me a couple of the pictures for this purpose (we ourselves do not have any). May god bless you sir. Eventhough I wanted to contribute financially to the function, I hesitated seeing your discomfort accepting the contributions. But as you are donating the amount to such a good cause please accept my humble donation of $116. In my opinion, the best service we can do to Shri Jayatiirtha with this money is to sponsor a project at Malkhede(publishing books, constructing facilities etc). Your personality confirms my faith in shrImadAcArya's doctrine of jIvasvabhAva. One has to be born with it, it cannot be made. I fully concur with shrI Rachuri's suggestion that the money should be utilized for some project. My suggestion is that during the ArAdhanA many people were asking if there were any detailed English translations of SrimannyAyasudhA with ParimaLA tippan.I of shrimad 1008 MantrAlaya PrabhugaLu. There are sArAmshas in English but no detailed line-by-line translations. It will of great benefit to people here and future generations living outside the Indian cultural context if such a translation were done. Thus I make an earnest request that we should put the money for such a project. It would also help struggling pan.Dits back in India who are barely making a living.
