Guest guest
Dear Friends, If a serious attack is made by a young person with an 'Affective Disorder', on another philosophical system, however absurd or boring it might be, it calls for an answer in a manor which can be understood by the young generation growing abroad. These types of thought provoking remarks are made by the people of other systems in order to debase the developing belief system of the younger generation. It might look very simple and not worth the bother by the very learned and elite persons who have mastered a particular school of Hindu philosophy. The attack by the young Christian is not on any particular school of Hinduism, but on Hinduism as a whole. The young growing minds are still in the 'formatting stage' and they should be shown that not only 'Vidya' or the correct knowledge is True, but also they should be shown that 'Avidya' or false knowledge is bad and inappropriate. Just because the wise and learned adults know it all and this kind of attacks does not affect them , we should not brush this matter under the carpet. The suggestion of conducting seminars and discussion groups as proposed by Professor BN Hebbar is right and appropriate and it concerns the welfare of the future generation of Hindus growing abroad. Yours sincerely, Rajaram Cavale. ______ Don't forget to SPOT the DOT in my email address. There is a spot in my email address before kkh - as below. rajcaval.kkh. Guest guest
Friends, I find that my comments on the subject made in good faith and in all sincerity have apparently caused some misunderstanding and possibly distress too to the others. If so, I am truly sorry. I read through my message again and I find that the two operative statements made have essentially been supported by all. These are - " As pointed out by Dr. Balaji hebbar, it is more important to ensure that the Hindu girl in this case, or our own people in general, are given valid answers to their questions. " " Here again our concentration should not be to tackle every " shining knight in armour " tilting his " spear " against Hinduism, Thathvavada etc. but to serve the larger purpose of helping our own coreligionists who need to be enlightened, reassured and supported against onslaughts of alien ideas, which have the advantages of wider prevalence, authority or just aggression. " Perhaps the suggestion that every " attack " by others on us should not be taken seriously and replied to - has been found inappropriate. I feel that a systematic effort at increasing the awareness level of our young people (and the not so young when they have not had the opportunity to learn) about our philosophy and culture by seminars, classes, lessons by e-mail, interesting postings discussing the issues at an understandable level, FAQs, assisting publication of literature and books etc are the kind of responses which will effectively strengthen our faith - and not just a reply or two occasionally. This emphasis is all that I would like to humbly suggest to all of you and I have absolutely no intention of trying to discourage e-mails being used for the same purpose.
