Most Respected Sri Swamiji,

Our koti namaskaragalu. I had talked with you a couple of times through

telephone during your chathurmasa stay in New Delhi, briefing you about Sri

Jayatheertha Aradhane in Allentown in Pennsylvania in the USA.

As I had informed you, Sri Jayatheertha Aradhane was conducted by H. H.

Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Puthige Matha and his group of priests.

As far as we know, this is the very first time Sri Jayatheertha Aradhane

was performed as a public function in the North American continent. The

function was conducted over a two days period (July 31-Aug 1) and well

attended by devotees from Pennsylvania, Washington D. C, Virginia, New

York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Michigan. There was a very good sath

sanga with lectures from learned scholars, devaranama singing and tatva

vichara. The Aradhana, organized under much uncertainties, ultimately

turned out to be very spiritually elevating and memorable event, all due to

the benevolent Grace of Sri Hari, Sri Vayu and Sri Tikacharya. A mruitika

brindavana of Sri Jayatheertha in private worship with an ardent devotee in

this land was made available to us for the Aradhane and we considered this

as Sri Jayatheertha himself having participated physically in the Aradhane,

accepted our humble offerings and blessed us. We consider ourselves very

blessed to have had the experience of Sri Jayatheertha Aradhane in this

distant land, though most of us had not any good fortune of visiting

Malkede or the darshana Sri Jayatheerthara Brindavana not even once in our

lives. Though we all consider ourselves as " intellectuals " with high

academic degrees, most of us have not been blessed with the capacity to

read the great works of Sri Jayatheertha but at least we had the longing and

a heart felt desire to pay our homage and respect to our guru Sri Tikacharya

and this longing was fulfilled.

As a response to the spiritual experience of the Aradhane, devotees came

forward on their own accord and gave their financial contributions which has

accumulated as Sri Jayatheertha Fund to be put to some good use in honor of

Sri Jayatheertha. As per your suggestion, I had communicated with Sri

Vidyasimhacharya in your vidyapeeta and as per your guidance, we hereby in

the name of Viswa Madhva Sanga, USA, offer our humble contribution of

$1650 (Rs. 70,950 at Rs 43 to a US dollar) from Sri Jayatheertha Fund to Sri

Gurusarvabhouma Samiti, for the sole purpose of reimbursing some of the

construction expenses of the Bhojana Sala in Malkede. We request an

appropriate plaque to be displayed publicly in the Bhojana Sala in Malkede

to acknowledge our humble contributions and for the plaque to serve as an

inspiration for the visiting devotees from the U. S. A and other parts of

the world to come together and contribute their efforts in strengthening our

community.

The remaining amount of $850 (Rs. 36,550) in Sri Jayatheertha Fund will be

utilized in publishing an English translation by Professor Balaji Hebbar,

Professor of Eastern Religions, George Washington University of a Kannada

work on Nyayasudha by H. H. Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, Puthige

Matha, Udupi.

It is our earnest prayer and we seek the blessings of Sri Hari, Sri Vayu,

Jagadguru Sri Madvacharya, Sri Jayatheertha and your revered self that we

continue to have the good fortune of performing Sri Jayatheertha Aradhane

every year and attain gyana, bhakthi and vairagya and make progress in our

spiritual lives in this distant, foreign land.

Our humble pranams.
