I got this from a friend of mine. ================================================ The situation of Kannada in schools was with Bangalore as an example. Take the school my son was attending in Bangalore - of his 442 classmates, only about 70 (2 Muslims included!) chose Kannada as their 2nd language! In many other schools in Bangalore, (example: National School in Indiranagar where my 3 nephews study) Kannada is not even offered as a language! The situation is only marginally better in smaller towns - there are no Kannada medium schools left anywhere in Karnataka, except of course, the hapless schools run by the local municipalities and village panchayats. ======================================= Forget Sanskrit, Karnataka idiots don't want to learn even Kannada. If they don't know Kannada, most doors of our tradition will be shut for them. They will end up " studying " Shakespere or some stupid stuff like that. In otherwords, this is the beginning of the end. Many of you are from Bangalore. What are you doing to make sure that your children are learning Kannada?
