Guest guest
In yesterday's class there was some discussion on what the term Antahkarana stands for. Here's some info I found. The five sensory organs(Jnanendriya: sight, smell, touch & sound) & the five motor organs ( Karmendriya: Speech, prehension, movement, excretion & reproduction) are called the external organs or bahyakarana. Buddhi, ahankara & manas represent the three psychological aspects of knowing, willing & feeling or cognition, conation & affection respectively. All the three are called the antahkarana. These are the thirteen karanas or organs of the Sankhya. ( A critical survey of Indian Philosophy: Chandradhar Sharma). If there is a different definition of what " Antahkarana " is in Madhva's system I am sure our class would like to hear.
