Guest guest
His Holiness Sri Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji Swamiji visited Louisville (Kentucky) on " Kojagari Poornima " Day (Sunday, 24 Oct evening). At first Swamiji gave a visit to Dr. Shantaram-Shakuntala Shetty's house for " Pada Puja " . Evening Tottilu Pooja was arranged at Dr. Keerti - Poorna's house. After the Pooja, Swamiji spoke on the significance of Kojagari Poornima. His Holiness pointed out that, on that particular night, Goddess Lakshmi will go around all houses and see if anybody is awake (Ko Jagari ?). She will stay in those houses where people keep awake and spend time in Devara nama. That is why, people perform jagarana on that evening. Then Swamiji gave a visit to the 'Hindu Temple of Kentucky' at Louisville. Swamiji was received by the temple priest, Shree Rameshwara Bhattar, and Temple Chairman, Dr. Keerti Kemparaja Aras. There was a gathering of about 200 people in the temple. Swamiji spoke on the importance of going to temple. He stressed on the importance of Bhakti and reminded that one should aspire for more Bhakti on God and not material things. In the beginning, Dr. Keerti introduced Swamiji to the gathering. On the way back to Cincinnati, Swamiji and His entourage gave a short visit to Keshavaraja's house. =====
