Guest guest
Dear VRP , (fellow Madhvas - also Dear - please bear with the verbiage) I was not going to add to this ludicrous issue but since VRP finds my language " quite inappropriate ...etc " I have no other choice but to respond. I do think it is utter nonsense to say that calif. is Kapil. If our Acharyas had decided philosophical issues on such flimsy basis our systems would be laughable indeed. When one begins the study of our systems and i include here adviata,nyaya-vaiseshikha,samkhya...etc one is deeply and profoundly impressed by the intellectual rigour and insight of our philosophers. I have already posted on the origin of the name " california " and as far as i am concerned, that is enough adhikara. Besides any statement (philosophical, scientific...) has to stand on its own merits. The age of the person making the statement is irrelevant. Even Kalidasa (i certainly dont claim to be in his league) had to protest - " purAnamitEya na sAdhu sarvam ... " I fail to see where disrespect to the Acharyas comes here. I will not post any more on this topic which is still think is presposterously absurd. However the capacity of such claims (calif. -> Kapil.) to do harm cannot be underestimated. regards, Shri kanekal > SMTP% " vrp " 28-DEC-1999 17:15:32.06 >>KANEKAL (AT) xxxxxx (DOT) xxxx.xxxx.xxx >>Re: Fwd: Kapilaranya to California >>It is indeed utter nonsense to claim that california >>is kapilaranya or whatever. >[chomp....] > >Dear Nataraj,Kanekal > > That kind of language is quite inappropriate for this kind of a >religious platform. >U would well be advised not to use such caustic and mordacious language >to express >your personal opinions. > > " VidyA dadAti vinayam,....... >which means " A true education gives humility.....
