E mahImandaladoliha guru | shrI madAchAryara mathAnuga | rA mahA vaishnavara vishnu pAdAbja madhukarara || stOmakAnamipe avaravara | nAmagala nempElve bahuvidha | yAma yAmangalali bodhisalemage sanmathiya || [harikathAmrutasAra - Sandhi 32 - Padya 53] I was listening to lectures on Isavasyam by Sri Bannanje Acharyaru wherein while explaining the meaning of shAnti mantra " pUrna madah pUrnamidam ......', Sri Acharya refers to buddhAvatAra and goes on to explain that the shOnya vAda as propounded by buddha is parama vaidika whereas the shOnya vAda as propounded by followers of buddha (bouddharu) is avaidika. The explanation is as follows : shOnya is related to sonne (zero) Digit '0' has a special characteristic which no other digit has. 0 + 0 = 0 0 - 0 = 0 0 * 0 = 0 0 / 0 = 0 (I think Mathematics considers this to be undefined) Sri Hari's anantatva is considered equivalent to shOnya (zero/sonne). ananta + ananta = ananta ananta - ananta = ananta ananta * ananta = ananta ananta / ananta = ananta This is the concept as explained by Lord buddha which was wrongly understood by His followers and that went on to become the most avaidika sampradAya. Sri Bannanje Acharyaru also states that Acharya Madhwaru was the first to explain this meaning of shOnya concept of Lord buddha. My Question : As I understand, king shuddhodhana's son siddhartha, who later became buddha, was the one who started buddhism and the followers of buddhism are referred to as bouddharu and it is they who believe in shOnya vAda. So, is siddhartha (s/o. shuddhodhana) Almighty Sri Hari? Please throw some light on this issue. There are different opinions as far as this is concerned. If someone has access to Sri Bannanje Acharyaru, could they please refer this issue and get clarification? I also request the learned to resolve this issue.
