Sri puthige swamiji's visit to the US

I want to echo the sentiments of sri Acharya, sri Hebbar and

others about sri Puthige swamiji's visit to the US. Saturday morning's

pooja and tulAbhAra at Ganesh temple were very special events. The

atmosphere of bhakti was so real and palpable, you could touch it. As I

stood witnessing the wonderful and sublimely devotional pooja and

mahAmangalArathi of sri viTTala devaru , I couldn't help wondering how

lucky and fortunate we are to have sri swamiji come here and bring the

blessings of sri viTTala devaru in this western society far from India.

Swamiji's poojas, his discourses, his willingness to hear and answer any

questions of devotees with kindness, touch and transform many lives, and

ability to wake up the spiritual instincts in all of us have transformed

the mAdhva and Hindu society in the US. My sAshTanga praNams to sri

Hari, vAyu and to swamiji for blessing us all with this wonderful

experience.

 

If we just imagine how we were about 2 1/2 years ago before sri

swamiji's first tour and the mAdhva society now, we can know what

swamiji's visits have accomplished here. Now there are means to network

spiritually oriented people,active mAdhva chapters, satsangs and

pArAyaNa sessions and children's stotra classes in several cities.

There are newsletters, booklets and cassettes for children published to

educate us and our children. It is amazing what the grace of sri Hari

and vAyu acting through a visionary leader can do!

 

I would like to list the main high lights of the tour. Please

forgive me if I have missed some events. Sri jayatheerthara ArAdhane,

sri rAghavendra swami ArAdhane, lectures of navarathna prameyas and

Geetha sapthAhas, children's conferences at couple of places,

upanayanAs to children and many other events. sri vAdhishAchar's

harikathe was an added attraction!

 

I would like people to share their stories of the tour and if it has

touched them in some special ways.

 

I want to thank the people with swamiji who played a very important

part in this tour. Sri vAdIshAchar, sri Ramachandra Kodancha, sri

Shrisha Bhat and sri Prasanna AchArya did a super job in supporting

swamiji in what was a very gruelling schedule. sri Kodancha's naLa pAka,

sri shrisha Bhat's efficiency, sri vAdhIshachar's singing, sri Prasanna

Acharya's many talents will remain with us for a long time. Our thanks

and respects to all of them.

 

I would like to thank many many volunteers in all the cities who

worked hard to plan and ensure the success of the tour. Special thanks

to sri Bindu Madhavan and Sri GV Srinivasan who made the tour possible.

Special thanks to sri Keshava Raj aLive who worked hard to coordinate

the national itenarary of the tour and ensured its success.
