Guest guest
For some reason ( Ignorance you might say) I had thought that even though the original nature of Jiva is Sat Chit Ananda , Avidya, which obscures the self luminosity of Jiva was also beginning less, was a property of the soul & that god creates the world to help Jivas to work out their Avidya. However, while reading Prof. Narain's book yesterday I realized that according to Madhwa Philosophy Avidya is imposed on the Jiva by god himself at least as a partial obscurity. Now this brings up the question " If Jiva in it's original state was already in Ananda ( blissful state) why did God have to give it partial obscurity & make it suffer transmigration?. Also one generally reads that according to Madhwa's school the original nature of Jiva is Sat Chit Ananda & yet we also say that in gradation of souls the tamasic souls are eternally damned. Does this then mean that the nature of jivas as blissful applies only to Satvic & Rajasic souls?
