Sri Narayana Tantri of Udipi has rendered yoemen service to Dvaita literature

through his translations of the works of Sri Madhvacharya .Prominent among them

are the Brahma Sutra Bhashya, Gita Bhashya, Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya and

Bhagavata Tatparya Nirnaya. His style is simple and the translations are true to

the original.

One of the leading scholars of Dvaita Siddhanta was Rao Bahadur Prof.

Venkateshachar. He was the leading light for many aspirers in DvaitaSiddhanta. A

person who could analyse every thing with the eyes of a physicist , he studied

Dvaita Vedanta in depth. He has translated Sri Vadiraja's 'Sruti

Tattvaprakashika' into Kannada. A collection of his lectures and writings is

published posthumously and is named 'Vedanta Dipika'.

The contribution of Rama Rao of 'Subodha' fame was no small achievement. Apart

from managing the publication and distribution of his magazine(he was called

''Subodha RamaRao' becuase of his editing Subodha,a magazine which was very

popular among Madhvas) ,he edited a no. of books including collections of the

Kirtanas of Sri Puirandara Dasa . He wrote a small primer of Madhva philosophy

called 'Madhvasiddhanta balabodhe' which is based on Sri Vyasatirtha's

sloka'Sriman MqadhvamatE hHari:h partatara:h...'.

The establishment of Purnaprajna Vidya peetha and Akhila

BharataMadhvaMahamandala under the guidance of Sri Visveshateertha swamiji makes

another landmark in the development of Dvbaita litererature in Kannada. Swamiji

himself is a very good writer. His lectures on the Bhagavadgita in Hubli and

Dharwar in the sixties has been the subject of 'Gita Saroddhara' a tranaslation

of which in English may be found in the archives of Dvaita-list. His Translation

of Vishnu TattvaNirnaya of Srimadacharya is a very useful book for those who

desire to study this difficult work. He has given a summary of Sriman

Nyayasudha in his book 'Nyayasudhasara' in lucid prose. Anyone who knows about

the Nyayasudha has to wonder whether its contents could be brought in such

simple prose. Swamiji has also written some small booklets on Dvaita philosophy.
