> Dear Bhasker,

Thanks for your response.

As regards books in English you have referred to I

tnink some were mentioned in Suresh's mail. He had

also mentioned about 'Madhvamitran ' edited by Adya

Rangacharya.( As I know AdyaRagacharya was a Kannada

play wright).

I had written only about books in Kannada. In view

of your request, I shall mention a few in English :

In the early years of this century,we had stalvarts

like c.R.krishna Rao,P.H.Krishna Rao and a few others

who contributed to Dvaita literature but I am, not

aware of the titles.

Dr.P.Nagaraja has, I understand, done a great

service to Madhva community through his books and

writings . One book I have read is his 'Dasaprakaranas

of Sri Madhgvacharya' (it was his thesis for his PhD

in Madras university). It i9s areally excellent work

which isquite exhaustiveand accurate.

The works of Prof.BNK Sharma are well known.

1. History of Dvaita Vedanta and literature.

2.A book on the comparative study of the

interpretation of the Brahma sutras (for which Hhe

book on Madhvacharya and his doctrines.

4.Nyaya sudha- the first five sutras.

5. Advaita siddhi vs Nyayamrita-an reappraisal.

(I am not having the exact titles of the books).

Works of K.T.Pandurangi

!. The ten Upanishads for which commentary is

written by Srimadacharya. A very useful set for the

study of the Upanishads.

(these books are individually available. Now they

are also available in one volume(combindly)).

2.A collection of his introductions to several

books .

KTP's books can be had from him(he lives in 3rd

block,Jayanagar,Bangalore(close to ANebande). The

address is available in the tel.directory of

Bangalore. Also his books are available with Dvaita

Vedanta Pratishtana,Jayanagar,1st block,Bangalore

4,which he heads.

You may be aware of the well known biography of

Srimadacharya by C.M.padmanabhachar, 'life and

teachings of Madhvacharya'.

.. I am not sure if this book is available in print

now.

A few books are written by Sri T.S. Raghavendran. If

we write him, he will send a set possibly by VPP.

Prof.D.N.Shanbhag has translated into English the

section relating to Madhva philosolphy from Madhava

tirtha's work(he was an advaitin) on 16of the

philosophies existing during his time. It is available

with the Dvaita Vedanta Pratishtana,Bangalore. His

book on 'Yuktimallika' is a recent one.(Pl.see

translations of it being given by Madhusudan.).

Prof.Nadagouda has yranslated 'Raghavendra Vijaya'

into English. His translation of 'Sumadhva Vijaya' is

published by ABMMM,Bangalore(Copies are available in

the ABMMM office atVidyapeetha,Bangalore.

May be you are already aware of some the above

books. I will write to you when I recollect other

titles. I shall await your posting about the other

titles you have come across.

I also have a suggestion to other rs.

Furnish a list of other books in Kannada/English

which they possess/or have read. If they mail(or

E-Mail) it to me, I shall try to consolidate and make

a catalogue.

Please give deatails as under:

name of the book.

author.

Publisher.

size or no.of volumes.

Date of publication.

My mailing address: 110,Forest Bend Drive, Coppel,

Texas,75019

I also suggest that members having a knowledge of

books in Telugu and Tamil list books in those

languages and write about them. To my knowledfge, there

were good no.of books on Dvaita in Telugu..

With best wishes,

Bannur.R
