Guest guest
Dear shrI Mukund: I had pointed long ago (when VMS was preparing shrImadAcArya's bio pamphlet) that the use of the word " mutt " is both deregatory and " humorous " (especially before Western audiences), and that " maTha " ought to be used instead. Tho' the usage of " maTha " was temporarily implemented, people seemed to have unconciously relapsed back to " mutt " . It only goes to show that old habits die hard. I had even cautioned HH Puttige SvAmIjI about it especially when conversing with Westerners. I request all " dvaita list " and VMS folks to kindly make a very conscious and deliberate effort to make the change to " maTha " when referring to our sacred eccleasiastical institutions. Let us not pay any more homage to the " RAJ " . Hopefully we became free of that vestige on Aug 15th 1947. I laud shrI Mukund for bringing this up for correction. with kindest regards to all, Hari-vAyu smaraNa, B.N.Hebbar
