Guest guest
> Namaskara to all Haribhaktaas. > > Sri Raghavendra teertharu is undoubtedly the doyen of Madhva saints and as Prahlada itself He had shown great devotion and as Sri Vyaasaraajaru and Sri Rayaru his scholarliness was unmatched. The Saint of Mantralaya is not only on e of the greates souls that the earth has witnessed but also one of the most compassionate Prabhus who > who provided immediate succour to those who approached Him.(Narayana Panditacharyaru in Raghavendra Vijaya has compared butter to a granite while compared to that of the softest heart of Sri Mantralaya Mahaprabhugalu). This great saint in one of His greatest works Pratas Sankalpagadya at the end of the work says Madaajnaakaaribhih vidyasambandibhih, dehasambandhibhischa tvadeeyaih asesha janaitvatsarvakartrutva karayithvaadhyusandhaana > poorvakam kaarishye cha. > I shall also persuade my subordinates, followers and relatives to carry out their work in the same way with the knowledge thatyou are the real doer and cause of all functions and activities..... > The hero of this article Sri Dhirendra teertharu fitted like a glove to the above statement since in the purvashrama he was a relative andalso he was a staunch devottee and follower of Parimalaachaaryaru. Sri Appannachaar had created a beautiful brindavan for Sri Rayaru and His Holiness said that it was meant for Sri Vadindraru who was later going to adorn the sarvajnapeetha. It was this great saint who sung the Guru Guna Sthavana > praising the works of Sri Raayaru and the whole brindvan shook and flowers were strewn over Sri Vadindra as a blessing from Raayaru and also the assent and acknowledgement of the greatness of the work of Sri Guru Guna Sthanvana/ His brindavan is next to that of Sri Raaghavendra Sri padaru at Mantraalayaa. Jayaraaamaachaar was the poorvaashrama saint of this great saint and had the unique distinction of learning > kavya, nataka, alanmkara, etc. from his illustrious father in his youth.(Jayaramachar later becomes dhirendraru) Jayaramachaar got maried and begot 3sons who were also great pandits and a daughter. after leading the life of a grihasta he was soon becoming a viraktin and a vairagyin and the brindavana praveshom of Sri Vadindrateertharu further increased the vairagya in Him. He decided to live a wandering life preaching the tenets of > dvaita philosophy throughout the lenght and breadth of the country. In a short course of time he had many followers young and old. Meanchwile the peethathipathi of Sri Rayara Matha Vasudendra teertharu (His brindavan is at an absolutely wondeful spot near Kanchenagudda near Adoni and all devotees must definitely visit this shrine when they go to Mantralayam and enjoy the peace, tranquility and also the sannitya of Sri Hari Vayu gurugalu > here) had instructed his successor Sri Varadendraru that Jayaramachaar should definitely be ordained into monkhood and adorn the pitha. Once at puna the athuli peshwa had welcomed Sri Varadendraru and honoured Him and a great pandit Sri Raama saastri came for a worldy duel . regarding tatvamasi and aham brahmaaasmi. The duel went on for two days and then by divinie ordinance Jayaramachaar arrived at the scene on His sojourn and the > swamiji asked Him to continue the vaadaa. Raama sastri was defeated on the 5tyh day but still he said that he was to argue only with the saint and that was accorded and he suffered defeat. But as the tradition of the olden days he was not ttreated as vanquished but also honoured. At this juncture also Sri Jayaramachar refused pitha and went on his sanchara. After sometime the health of the swamiji failed and He began to worry about > Moola Raamara pooja . At the time Jauyaramachar was doing seva to Sri Ajaya Vijendraru at Kumbakonam and he was teaching many pandits there. Hearing to the anxious plea of the swamiji the ever compassionate Sri Raghavendraswamigalu appeared in the dream of Jayaramachar and instructed Him to take sanyaasaa and proceed to poona. Jayaraamaachaar was thrilled beyond explanation of having had the darshan of Sri Rayaru that too at the spot > of His paramaguru and again and again paid His reverences to Guru Saarvabhaumaru and obeyed His command. Hari chinte is too inexplicable and beyond ones comprehension and when he arrived at poona the swamiji had regained His health. But this time in 1775 he was ordained into sarvajnapitha as SRI DHIRENDRA TEERTHARU and again after some time He continued His Holy journey . In 1785 he entered brindavan at the fort of Hosiriti . After > 5years He appeared in the dream of one of the disciples and said that He did not like the present place and wanted to be shifted to the banks of the Varadaa river nearby. The proposed site was readily gifted by the owner who also had a similar dream. The message was converyed to Buvanendraru and the process of shifting started by the poorvashrama son of Sri Dhirendraru. Bhuvanendraru could not arrive in time since Mantralaya was far > off. As step by step the brindavan was dismantled the whole crowd were biting their nails as how the holy deha of the swamiji would be. to the consternation of all the body was in the same condition and even the fragrance of the gandha was still present. The who crowd Sri dhirendra ki jai and the procession to the new spot was taken with veda ghosha and other auspicious musical instruments. This clearly proves the superiority and > tapaagni of the Maadhva sanyaasis and their brindavans are not mere tombs but reverential residentials of the great saints. > Inspite of his incessant travelling schedules the swamiji had contributed much to dvaita literature. They are as follows: 1.Kaarakaavadam. 2.Manyu sookta vyaakyaaanam. 3.Balitta sookta '' 4.Narayana upanishad " 5.Aitreya upanishad " 6.Guru guna stavana " ........... and so on. His vyaakyaana on guru guna stavana and that of Vasudendraru are real guidelines to understand the excellent work of Vadindraru. (This humble soul will try to work upon it after sometime in the list) Dhyaana shlokaa. Dharani mandale kyaatam dhairyaadi guna brimhitam. Dikruta asesha vaadeepam dheera simha gurum bhaje. Sri Satya bhodharu. He was Ramacharya in purvasharama and got deeksha from his guru Srii Satyapriyaru( A great saint now interned at Manamadurai). The saint had gone to Gaya and was pained to see the extortion of the pilgrims by the gayavaatis and changed them and they accepted Madhva shaastraa. Once some people poisoned Him. Though the saint knew about the same He took it since it was offered to the Lord but also there is a subtle meaning in this that the pitathipathi always takes the food first not only to receive any honours but also to protect their shishyaas. The doctors schecked Him and asked Him to take food only in the night and He didi accordingly. When people questioned the same He perforemed the miracle of showing the sun in the night.(Sudindra teertharu earlier had eclipsed the sun during daytime). He was a great friend of Sri Dhirendra teertharu and symbolically He also entered brindavan near the former's brindavan at Varada nadi. Also both the aradhana day falls in a short span of time. Sri Dhirendraru on Phalguna shukla triyodhashi. Sri Satyabhodaru on " krishna pratime. Dhyaana shloka. naivedyakabavisham raame veekshya tatbhukti bhaagguru. yo darsayatravim raatrau satya bhodhastu me mude. Sri Satya bhodaru is believed to be an amsa of Markandeya Maharishi and great souls have strong faith that His blessings ensures Yavana apeksha in moxa. His succesor Sri Satyasandaru had written Satyabhoda Vijaya in honour of His master. Sri Moola Rama Sri Digvijayaraama preetiyartam Sri Krishnaarpanamasthu. Yours in the service of Sri Harih. Dr. B.
