Guest guest
Namaskara to all Haribhakthaas. Today is a red lettered day in the History of Madhva philosophy and literature. It is the day when one of the greatest saints Sri Vadirajaru attained brindavana exactly 400years back in a tranquil and beautiful place at Sodhe. I just want to highlight one of the interesting incidents in the life of Bhaavi Sameeraru which brings to the limelight His greatness. There was a lady who used to serve the Marathi saint Tukaram with selfless devotion and the saint pleased with her devotion one day asked her if she had any desires to be fulfilled. She replied in the affirmative and gave the usual problem of being childless. Tukaram used to talk to Sri Panduranga every night and that day put forth the lady's plight. The Lord replied in the negative and said that in this janma she was not ordained to bear a child. Tukaram conveyed the news to her and she continued her service to the saint. After a few days the great saint Sri Vadirajaru was to pay a visit and the lady had a good cucumber garden. She had heard that Sri Hayavadana used to partake the lunch offered by the saint and she thought that the cucumbers from her garden should definitely offered to the Lord and she did so in plenty. Sri Vadirajaru was extremely pleased with the offerings and summoned her and offered gifts for her service. She reverentially refused and prostrated before the saint with a view of having only His blessings. The saint blessed Her to be blessed with children and Lo Behold! within one year she bore a beautiful young male baby. Tukaram was naturally nonplussed and approached the Lord in bewilderment. The Lord smiled and said that if Tukaram himself would have blessed the woman He would have seen that the lady was blessed with the child and He reiterated that the words of His devotees(especially that of Sri Vadiraja GuruSarvabhouma) will never go in vain. This clearly shows the greatness of the saint and also that the Lord always makes the prophecies of His dear ones true. Yours in the service of Sri Harih. Dr. B. Basker.
