ESTABLISHMENT OF VISHNU SARVOTHTHAMMA (hariH parataraH)

Question: Swamiji, in Bhaghavat Geetha where it has been clearly stated

that Brahma, Rudhra etc do not occupy the Supreme position

(SarvOththammathwa)?

Srigalavalavaru: Arjuna after becoming a brahmajnanee & who is seeing

Krishna with special vision is making his statement as a witness.

BG 11- 15: Hey Krishna, I am seeing in Your Body all dhevas, groups of

living beings Brahma sitting on a lotus, Rudhra sitting on the lap of

Brahma, all Rishis & great serpents. The idea is that all are present

in the body of the Supreme God depending on him

BG 11-22: Yekadasa Rudhras, Dwadhasa Adhithyas, Ashtavasus, Sadhyas,

Vishvedhevathas, Aswini dhevathas, forty nine Maruththas,

Pithrudhevathas, Gandharvas, Yakshas, Asuras, groups of Sidhdhas & all

are looking at you with surprise look.

BG 11- 37: Swami, since You are Perfect, a great, guru , creator of the

world, & creator of Chaturmukha Brahma, how can any one remain without

paying respect to You.

BG 14- 27 : I am the protector & maintainer of Mahalakshmi,

Chathurmukhabrahma, permanent groups of Mukthas, Nishkama dharma which

give permanent result (Phala) & salvation (Mukthi) which is permanent

pleasure which has no tinge of suffering.

BG 7-5: Krishna says to Arjuna that he should understand that

Mahalakshmi who is different from non living prakruthi & who is

responsible for all jeevas to acquire physical bodies & who is superior

to all living & non living Prakruthi is dependent on me. These

sentences, mean that Lakshmi, Brahma, Rudhra etc are only subordinate to

Vishnu & are not independent of him.

Question: The author of Brahma suthras, which determine the correct

meaning of Vedavyasa, by what means has shown that Vishnu Parabrahma ie.

sarvOththamasvasthu (perfect Supreme God)? If Vishnu is BG is also

shown as perfect Supreme God by the same means then there will be common

words, between Suthras, & words of Sri Krishna in BG.

Srigalavaru: In Brahmasuthras, apart from saying clearly, as such the

following Lakshana (uncommon Dharma) have been mentioned as the uncommon

qualities of Supreme God (Parabrahma Vishnu) Purnananda (perfect

pleasure) freedom (independence), knowing everthing (sarvajnathwa),

janma (creation), maintenance & protection (Sthuthi), destruction

(Laya), control (Niyamana), knowledge (Jnyana), ignorance (Ajnana),

entangling jeevas in worldly affairs (Bandha), power to grant salvation

(Mukthi), ablility to do all these (Karthuthva), power to be present

everywhere (Antherbahir Vyathathva), being described by Om (Pranava

pradhipadhyathva), described by all vedantha (Nikhilaveda vedantha

Prathip padathva), freedom from prakrithigunas & karmabandha. Peculiar

power of all indriyas to every part of his body, power to enjoy the

result of all good karmas (sarva sathkarmaphala Bhokthruthva), the power

to remain same everywhere without any change in all circumstances

(Sarvasamathva) power to remain unknown (Avyakththva), uncommon power

(Achinthya sakthimathva) power to grant salvation to jeevas, with whom

he is pleased & when the jeevas understand his greatness (Mukthi hethu

bheetha jnana Vishayathwa) etc.

Perfect pleasure (Poornanandathva) has been settled as typical guna of

supreme God (Vishnu) in Brahmasuthra like " Anandamayoabhyasyath " (B 86)

since Krishna is poornAnada svaroopa one can accept him as

sarvoththamma. Sukha Ananda is a purushartha by itself. All other

requirements for a person are required for the purpose of his Dukha.

There is no answer for the question why one wants Sukha. For one who

has complete & perfect sukha, there is nothing in all the three worlds

required by such a person. Therefore, one who has no desire is

considered to be sarvoththamma. Krishna says:

BG 3- 22 : Arjuna since, there is nothing in all the three worlds

which I did not have in the past & which I should get in the future,

there is no allotted Karma for me to do for the purpose of obtaining the

wanted thing.

Since all keeva including Brahma, Rudhra etc are engaged in the Aradhana

(worship) of Paramathma either to obtain salvation or His grace,

therefore, they are not without any desire or want. Since the quality

of not having any desire or want is only in Krishna & not in anyone

else, therefore only Krishna is sarvOththamma & none else. Even Lakshmi

is subordinate to Vishnu.

Independence(Swathanthra) is another quality indicating perfect

supremacy. This has been settled as such in Brahmasuthras like

" Thadhananyathvamarambhanasabhi " (B 87) Krishna says he has this guna in

Him.

BG 4- 13 : I have created chaturvarnas, but there is no creator to

Me. I am Independent.

BG 10 - 8: According to my directions, all jeevas follow their course

of action, Krishna has repeated what is said in Shruthies like

" Naruthethvathkiyathekinchanare " everything is under His control.

All knowing (Sarvajnathva) is another character of sarvOththamathva.

This has been stated as such in Brahmasuthras. in

Adhrusyathvadhikarana. This quality includes understanding thoroughly

Himself as well as every other item in the world different from

Himself. This quality is present only in Vishnu & no one else.

BG 4- 6: Arjuna for you & Me many births & rebirths have gone by, I

know all of them, but you do not know them (Since you are one that

causes sorrow to your enemies).

BG 7- 20: Arjuna, I know everything of past, present & future of

everything but no one knows me thoroughly well not even Chathurmukha

Brahma (Kaha means Chathumukha Brahma).

BG 4- 15: I know all the vedhas completely & I composed

vedhanthasuthras.

BG 10- 2: Even groups of Devathas & Maharshee are not able to

understand fully My greatness.

BG 10-- 14/15: Keshava, what are all your greatness you have told me,

they are all true. Neither dhevathas, nor Dhanavas, know completely

Your greatness by Yourself without any external help, You have

understood Yourself completely.

BG 7- 24: A jeeva can understand Krishna according to the capacity of

the concerned jeeva only with the grace of God. Without the grace of

God, no one can understand God to any extent. No one can understand God

completely under any circumstances.
