Guest guest
Dear Vaishnavas The NY/NJ/PA/Connecticut chapter of VMS successfully conducted a Satsanga last Sunday (4/16). This was held in my house, and here is a quick report on the proceedings and follow-up actions. Participants: Chetan Bhargiri and family (including parents), JV Acharya, Bindu Madhavan & family, GV Srinivasan & family, Navaratna Murthy & family, Keshava Rao & family, Madhusudhana Bheemasena Rao & family, Raghuprem Narayana Rao, Badrinath & family, Naveen Bannur & family, Janardhan & family, Deepak Katte (my cousin). 2:15 - 2:45 - Arrival 2:45 - 3:00 - Impromptu question & answer session on Jeeva Svarupa 3:00 - 4:15 - Shastra pATha by shri Keshava Rao. He delivered a wonderful lecture on Pramana LakshaNa. As always, his communication was excellent and very effective. He also provided handouts and answered everybody's questions patiently. 4:15 - 4:45 - Discussion on follow up plans and gathering of feedback on the logistics. 5:15 - 5:30 - HarikathAmrutasAra - vyApti sandhi by shri Raghuprem 5:30 - 6:30 - Group devaranama singing 6:30 - 6:45 - Informal discussion on devare puje (especially rAma naivEdya) 6:45 - 7:45 - Quick dinner (some families had very kindly brought dishes for everybody) Following were some of the decisions that we took in this meeting: - The meetings would continue on a monthly basis. The duration and format would remain the same. - In order to make it convenient for Connecticut based members, the meetings would alternate between Connecticut and NJ, on odd and even months respectively. - NJ meetings would be held on the third Sunday of every month, provided it was not an EkAdashi, dvAdashi or part of a long weekend, in which case it would move to the next Sunday. - Connecticut meetings would be held on the third Saturday, subject to the same conditions as explained above. - From the next session onwards, one of the adults would spend time with the children and have them recite from a select list of stOtras and explain to them our basic concepts. The list of stotras would be finalized based on feedback received from the participants. - shrI Keshava Rao would send out the topic and some overview in advance of the meeting. All the participants expressed their happiness at being able to participate in such spiritual gatherings and listen to shrI Keshava Rao's excellent lecture. It was very heartening to see people who had driven 3 - 4 hours just to participate in this meeting. One cannot but help admire such dedication and zeal to learn our shAstra. On behalf of all participants I wish to thank shrI kEshava Rao for quenching our spiritual thirst in this manner. vara guru upadEsha dorakitu yenaginnu, innEnu innEnu sriprasad ____________________ The information contained in this transmission may contain privileged and confidential information and is intended only for the use of the person(s) named above.
