krishNa bhaktas,

All of us are deeply saddened by the demise of sri phalimaru

swamiji. As many of the writers had described, he represented the best

in our tradition and in humanity in scholarship, spirituality, devotion,

kindness, and compassion. He has shown by example, the kind of

spiritual level, a person can raise to in this world. It might be

possible that (as others have said) the lofty levels attained by him

are possible because he was a " devAmsha sambhuta " ; but it is goal for

all of us to aspire to.

 

VMS directors will be sending a letter to sri pejawar swamiji

expressing our sadness. The letter is reproduced below.

On behalf of the devotees of Vishwa Madhva Sangha, we would like

to offer our humble sAshtAnga namaskAragaLu to your Holiness.

 

All of us are extremely saddened to learn the passing away of Sri

Sri VidyAmAnya Theertha Swamiji of Phalimaru MaTha. MAdhva and Hindu

communities have lost a veritable giant of mAdhva and Indian

philosophy, one of the most spiritual and humble persons on the earth.

His holiness was a beacon of spirituality, kindness and devotion. We

were all inspired by his many lectures, discourses, his sharp intellect

and his tireless efforts to teach his devotees. MAdhva and Hindu

communities have been orphaned by his demise.

 

The best way to honor his memory will be to rededicate ourselves to

lead the life of devotion and service to Sri Hari as specified by Sri

MadhvAcharya.
