ESTABLISHMENT OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JEEVA & BRAHMA: (TATVATHO BHEDA,

JEEVA BRAHMARA BHEDHA)

Question: Swamiji, what are the sentences of Bhaghavan which contradict

the Ikya of Jeeva & Brahma?

Answer: Same sentences, say that parabrahma is not the jeeva who is bound

by prakruthi gunas & it is the ignorant who believe that parabrahma is also

a jeeva. SOme other senteces say that if you treat parabrahma as a jeeva

difficulties arise.

BG 7-13: All the ajnanees in this world, who have bodies made up of

prakruthi, by seeing others who look like themselves, are unable to

understand me who has a body which is free from the effects of three gunas,

ie. Krishna is a paramachethana that has a body which is not made of

prakruthi.

BG 7-24: People wiht a bad mind do not understand paramathma as he actually

is as he is very much different from all others & he has body devoid of

destruction. Since his body is also similar to the body of ther humans,

they think that he is also another jeeva, which is derogatory to God.

Krishna has called as ajnanees those that wrongly think that Krishna is also

another jeeva having a body made of prakruthi which is far from truth.

BG 9-11 to 14: People of thamasic nature without understanding my real

nature which is the same always, with unlimited power, very different from

human beigns, just because I have a body similar to human body, they think I

am also another jeeva with human body & thus dishonor me, i.e. they think I

am a lower being while I am the supreme God. Krishna says there will be bad

result for the ignorant who think God to be another ordinary jeeva their

wishes like going to heaven etc.... will be in vain.

Their karmas like yagnas do not yield good result. Since they have

misunderstanding him their knowledge becomes waste, they hate paramathma,

they have asura swabhava which gives them Mithya jnAna. Krishna says that

thse who have dhevatha connection (people who deserve Mukthi) such people

with steady mind do dhyana (devotional meditation) of paramathma thinking

that he is the creator of the whole world & its protector, & he is devoid of

all types of destruction. They always do the namasankirthana (praying ) of

God & worship God. In the prescribed procedure & with bhakthi (devotion)

keeping their mind in him only, always thinking of him, they will do doing

Dhyana.

From these sentences, Krishna has suggested certain reasons that prove that

1. jeeva is not brahma. Only people of asura nature think that he is

adhama jeeva.

2. Due to that wrong knowledge, their yajnas etc become waste.

3. People with dhaivis vabhava believe that he is brahma who is devoid of

all changes.

4. Parabrahma is the creator of bhuthas. If it is said that a jeeva has

been born from another jeeva, he form another jeeva then it will become an

infinite series. To avoid that some one who had unborn body & different

from jeeva should be accepted as creator, such a peculiar chethana that has

a body not susceptible of any change is god. This idea is expressed by the

word " Avyaya " . Between creator & created, the difference is certain as it

is between father & son. Paramathma who createds the bhuthas cannot become

the jeeva & arranges the bodily relation. It is not known anywhere that one

can be his own father.

" Atma vai puthranamasi " (B21) etc.... Sruthies seem to declare that Father

himself is born as son; because of this one should not conclude that there

could be Ikya or identity between father & son. For if that is accepted

than all sastras that declare the Mathruga mithva is a great sin should be

burnt. Therefore, father & son should be deemed as separate jeevas only.

In the same way, there is difference between jeeva & Brahma who is the

creator of the body of the jeeva just as there is difference between human

son & human father who creates his sons body.

BG 9-15: Some devotees worship as only one God who is present everywhere

but some other devotees worship me as having a number of different forms

from this some people may draw a wrong inference that by svaroopa one but is

many in form, he is man. This is wrong because he has condemned these that

think he is a jeeva, therefore one cannot infer that he can be in the form

of jeeva. Krishna himself has described what are his different forms

" Kartha " " Yajna " " Svadha " I am in Krathu, in Svadhas, in vanaspathis that

are used in yajna in manthra in ghee, in fire & in homa.

BG In this way, he is in everything & Arjuna has seen in Vishvaroopa that

only one Paramathma having different forms.
