Guest guest
Dear Krishnabhaktas: A note on coming ekAdasi, especially for those in North America. As per New York temple calander the following thithi ending times are given for NewYork coordinates: (I verified these timiings with another software I have called PCJyotish, all times given are Eastern Daylight saving Time) June 27 Tuesday: Sunrise: 5:46 AM, dasami ends at 6:52 AM (ekAdasi begins) June 28 Wednesady: ekAdsi ends at 4:42 AM (dwadasi begins) June 29 Thursday: dwadsi ends at 1:55 AM (thriyodasi begins) As far as I have understood from KrishnAmrita mahArnava, no fasting on Tuesday as dasami is still present even after sunrise (dasami should end 1.5 hrs before sunrise for fasting on that day). Hence fasting is on the follwing day i.e., Wednesday even though ekAdasi has ended and dwAdasi has begin. The pArane is on Thursday in thriyodasi. This is for information only. I hope this is right and please use your discretion. Corrections/discussions on this posting is very welcome. hari kathA sravna mAdo GV Srinivasan
