Answer: Sankaracharya has written in his Geetha bhasya " Mumuksho ho sarva Karma Sanyasa Vidhanath " This means that for all munukshus abandonement of performance of Karma has been prescribed. From the consideration of this sentence, it is clear that in the opinion of Sankaracharya , all those who start studying Vedhantha could abandon the performance of Karmas. Because he has laid down the following four necessary qualifications for everyone that starts seeking Mukthi through the studying of Brahma Suthras. Knowledge of permanent & temporary things, non desire for worldly & heavenly pleasures, attainment of control over seses from which he earns, sama, dhama, etc ... Sadana Sompathy & Mumukshathva (desire for Moksha). For every mumukshu, according to adhvaitha, it is proper to give up performance of Nithya, naimith thi ka karma. His statement regarding the non performance of Karma by grihasthas which is inhis bhasya on Chapter 3. will be considered in details when dealing with Moksha sadhana. According to Advaitha, it is clear that there would not have been any harm to Arjuna, an outstanding jnani who had the visvarupadharshana, if he had not ought in the war, which was a prescribed Karma for a kshatriya. Since he ought in the war enthusiastically after Krishna's upadesha though he was unwilling to fight before upadhesa, if naturally follows that Krishna gave such on upadhesha that induced Arjuna to fight. Since a dhvaitha only hinders the performance of Karma & does not enthuse any body to perform Karma, it is definite that Krishna did not teach Advaitha to Arjuna. Based on the detailed considerations so far, we have made, the following are the summary of reasons on the basis of which we have to come to our final conclusion. 1. Sentences that show the actual difference between jeeva & brahma including the word " :Anya " (different ) for God. 2. The different permanent states of jeeva & brahma. 3. 'na hyaya nyathmana bhavathi " etc... statements which have been considered already. 4. Many different qualities liek sarvajnatha & aparjnatha, master & servant, etc.. between Brahma & jeeva. 5. Description of state of mukthas of different jeevas. 6. How when Arjuna saw visvarupa, he saw everything i.e. world, devathas, paramathma, & other men, as separate entities. 7. The words that directly contradict Ikya. 8. Experience of difference that condradicts Ikya when Arjuna saw paramathma in his visvarupa he experienced the great difference between jeeva & paramathma deeply & wider than he had everdone before. 9. All the thathparyaling as support only bhedha. 10. At the time of commencement of war, unsuitablity of preaching Ikya thatva to Arjuna to encourage him to fight. The above ten reason compel to conclude that Krishna preached Arjuna when he sincerely believed as the correct truth & which was in the best interests of Arjuna as he had surrendered himself for correct guidance that Krishna is parabrahma & he believes in the pancha bedhas, inspite of all this, if any oone says that Ikya thathva of advaitha is acceptable to Krishna, then the person is either under a great illusion or he is opposed to Krishna. Therefore, we declare that any one who believes that Krishna is paramathma & has firm faith in his words, that he is purushoththamma different from everything else, does devotion (dhyana) & worship will cross this samsara as easily as he could do the foot print of a calf.
