Guest guest
hari sarvottamma, vaayu jiivottamma shrii gurubhyo namaha ESTABLISHMENT OF DEPENDENCE OF JEEVA OR JEEVAS ARE SERVANTS OF VISHNU OR SUBORDINATE TO VISHNU. (JEEVAPARATHANTHRA SAMARTHANA, JIVAGANAH HARERANUCHARAHA) Question: Swamiji, advaithies say that only jnanees should not do karma. Then according to their system, ajnanee before beoming a jnanee can do the karma? Answer: If you say so that would mean that jnanee is not a subordinate of paramathma but an ajnanee is a subordinate of paramathma. Here, some suttle discussion is necessary. In advaitha system, one starts practicing karmas prescribed by vedas under the illusion that he is subordinate of God. When he actually gains, the advaitha jnana that he is brahma himself & not subordinate to brahma himself & he ceases to perform Karmas as he feels he was performing them only to ignorance. But Krishna has said clearly that one who performs the prescribed karmas is a sathvika & one who does not do so is a Thamasa. Therefore one who is considered as one under illusion by advaithies is considered as sathvika in the opinion of Krishna & one who is considered as sathvika in the opinion of Krishna & one who is considered as jnani in the opinion of Advaithes is considered as thamasa fit for entering hell & 2 if after brahmaikya jnana a jnanee can avoid doing Karma every one can avoid doing Karma even before. For suppose an ignorant person spends his money & cultivates on the saltfield. After the year is over, he finds that he does not get any yield & suffered a loss only. he ceases further cultivation on that land. Further he advices other cultivate on that land & suffer losses. The chief pracharaka of Advaitha, Sankara charya has preached that jeeva is only Brahma & nothing else. Hence everyone who believes Sankarachaya teachings should stop practising Karma prescribed in vedas, Sankaracharya has clearly stated that all prescribed procedures for practice of dharma are illusions. Meaning: Varnas like Brahmana are not true (illusory) varnashramadhormas are not true (illusory. The student is not real (illusory) the teacher is not real (illusory). The sasthras that lays down do's & dont's is not real, the preaching we are doing is not real. But only this is true i.e. since I am brahma himself, variations do not affect me. I have no punya, no papa no salvation (moksha) no relatives (mithya) performance of varna sramadharma, which is consequent upon my body does not apply to me. Vedas are not true (mithya) yajna are not there (mithya). THere are no sacred thirthas (mithya). Though all shastras that lay down do's & dont's are false, ignorant people due to ignorance believe that the sasthras contain truth. The shastras are intendent only for such ignorant people. 3. Since Sankaracharya has stated like this, all his followers irrespecive of any one being a jnanee or jnanee, should give up the practice of varna sramadharma (which is illusory). Any one who does not do so is an unwise person who wastes his efforts on unproductive work. (like boxing with a shadow.) The 4th statement of Sankaracharya that a jnanee need not do any prescribed Karma is meaningless. For in advaitha system, as soon as one gets brahmaikayajnana, he becomes one with Brahma & this world ceases to exist for him, without a separate existence of jeeva & the world (real or unreal) there cannot be any performance of Karma. Hence in the system of advaitha, it is only the ajnanee who experiences the world & hence can either do the prescribed Karma or avoid it. Therefore evidently, the statement of Sankaracharya that " prescribed karma need not be done " should apply only to his ajnanee follower i.e. one who is studying vedhantha or one who has studied vedhanta but not yet atttained brahmaikyajnana. But this view is very much opposed to Krishna who says that those who fail to discharge their duties properly incur his displeasure & become liable for punishment by him who is " dhando dhamavathamasmi " . He has tought this repeatedly. Though as Supreme God, there is no need for him to perform Karma, other chethanas who are bound to do karmas may also neglect their duty, blindly following him if he does not do duty which may result in undesirable varna sankarya etc... Krishna says he is also following Karmamarga. BG 3---22 to 24: TO BE CONTINUED.................................................................
