Guest guest
Dear Vaishnavas, 1. One of my relatives wants to perform shrAddha for his parents. The shrAddha tithi for his mother falls sometime in shrAvaNamAsa krishna paksha. He belongs to Yajurveda shAkha. He enquired in a local temple (he stays in Westborough, MA) about the availability of a mAdhva priest to help him perform the shrAddha. But no mAdhva priests are available; even the ones available informed him of a scheme for feeding some people on that day, and nothing more. Since pitR^ikArya is not to be neglected, can you suggest an alternative? My guess is that such priests can be found in NY, NJ area. I'd told him that if nothing works out, doing Brahmayaj~na (with tilAtarpaNa) and feeding three Brahmins could be a good alternative. But I don't know the mantras recited for a yajurveda brahmayaj~na. 2. Since his Upanayana was performed just a few months back, he does not know the procedure for sandhyAvandana properly. There were postings by a gentleman, TVSridhara, on the dvaita list on the R^igvediiya sandhyavandana. How different is the yajurvediiya sandhyaavandana from this? Is it OK to substitute yajurvediiya sandhyaavandana by that of R^igshAkhAdhyAyI? Regards, Krishna
