Guest guest
hari sarvottamma, vaayu jiivottamma shrii gurubhyo namaha shrii kr^iShNa parabrahmane namaha ESTABLISHMENT OF VARIATIONS IN THE NATURE OF HUMAN BEINGS: ( NICHOCHEHA BHAVANGATHAHA, THARATHAMYA SAMARTHANA:) Question: Swamiji, in this connection, where has Krishna said? The chetana who entertains bad thought, he develops interest in bad things. If his desire is abstracted by another, he develops interest in bad things. If his desire is abstracted by another, he develops hatred for him (krodha) from the hatred his desire for bad things becomes strong, from that strong desire, the discreation of Sastras (rules of Do's & donts) will be destroyed. When this discretion is lost, the previous sense he had that bad things should not be done, will be completely lost. By losing that correct knowledge that what should not be done he will become liable for punishment like residence in hell etc... for the bad acts he does. The fact that sathvika chethanas may due to external influences may go out their normal course of doing good work but within a short time, they regain their natural sathvik nature in all respects. This can be seen from the life of Arjuna. Arjuna was very enthusiastic about fighting & killing of Kauravas & their followers as they were wicked people, & killing them would be his varnashramadharma, & it would be a service to paramathma (Krishna) who had taken the avatara for the express purpose of removing all wicked people & their helpmates from the world, so just before the start of the war, Arjuna requested Krishna who was driving Arjuna's chariot. BG 1---- 21 to 33: Hey Achyuta, please stop my chariot between the two armies, I shall see all those people who have come here with the intension of fighting to do good to the wicked minded son of Dhrutharashtra. In this way, Arjuna, just before the war had his normal natural quality of thinking that Dhurodhana & his followers were bad, & that they deserved to be killed. But when he actually saw all the assembled people, whom he considered as relatives & remembered the pleasant memories he had with them, his opionion changed still after the instructions from Krishna, he gained his normal sathvika nature & said. BG 18-73: Hey Achyuta, the ajnana I had has gone by your grace, I have got back my old remembrance. I have no doubt now. I am going to carry out your orders. Since Arjuna was a sathvika chethana with Krishna's advices only he regained sathvika nature. But Duryodhana, a thamasika chethana inspite of good advice from Bhishma, Drona, Parasurama, Devala, Narada etc... rishies, Vidhura, Dhrutharashtra, Gandari & Sri Krishna did not change his wicked mind & finally got himself destroyed. Since Arjuna was a sathvika chethana. He felt sorry for the wrong idea he got & began to doubt whether he was a sathvika chethana fit for Mukthi, which Krishna cleared by saying. BG 15-5: Hey Arjuna, do not grieve. You have Dhaivi sampath, & you are fit for Mukthi. In the 6th chapter, also Krishna says that a sathvika chethana who goes astray due to bad influence of their company, he will be born in the family of good yogies in his next birth, due to the influence of their company he will regain his previous knowledge & proceed in sathvikakarma & attain Mukthi finally. This is the substance of the following slokas. BG 6---42/43: But people of asuravabhava, Krishna says without attaining Me at any time, at the end, they enter a permanent hell from which there is no return. In this way, it is clear from Krishna's words that there are two types of people one superior & another inferior. In chapter 9, Krishna says that there are certain people who have a mixed nature of both superior & inferior. BG 9---20/21: Thraividyas, ie those that do karmas as prescribed in the vedhas to obtain pleasures of heavenly residence. They are called permanent samsaries. They worship Me through yajna & drink soma which is remaining after the completion of yajna, pray Me for grant of svargaloka as they have become pure after the performance of yajna, they enjoy all pleasures in swarga so long their punya losts. Once their punya is over, they return to this world. Again, they do kamya karmas. This cycle repeats itself endlessly. The people described in this sloka are not interested in prohibited Karma hence they are not thamoyogyas nor are they interested in nishkama karma hence they are not sathvika chethanas fit for mukthi. Hence they are always interested in kamya karmas. TO BE CONTINUED.................................................................
