Guest guest
Guru Raghavendra's Aradhane. The word Aradhane means worship. We are all devoted to Gururajaru and worship him almost daily. The Aradhane,as we term it,being performed annually, should therefore have something in addition. So,we should decide to do something which pleases the Guru. In the Raghavendra Ashtaka we have the following sloka: VEdavyAsamunishamadhvayatirAt tIkAryavAkyAmr~itam j~nAtvAdvaitamatam hAlAhalasamam tyaktvA samAKhyA- ptayE sanKhyAvatsuKhadAm dashopaniShadAm vyAKhyAnsamAKhyAn mudA srImat sadguruRaghavEndrayatirAt kuryAdDhruvam mangalam In this sloka,Sri AppaNacharya says that Sri Raghavendra, having understood the philosophy as stated by Sri Vedavyasa,Madhvacharya and Jayatirtha as equivalent to 'amrita' and so rejecting the advaita philosophy as equal to 'halahala' or poison, wrote the commentaries on ten upanishads which are pleasing like the 'sankhya' shAshastra as taught by the Lord in His avatara as Kapila(to his mother). The devotes of Sri Gururaja should ,therefoe, follow the same philosophy which was advocated by his guru,Sri Madhvacharya, and reject all other philosophies rejected by him in his works. That is the correct way to get the blessings of Sri Guru Raghvendra on his aradhana.
