Guest guest
KrishNa bhaktas, Sri Ramachandra Budhihal in Bangalore wants to set up audio pravachanas on the net by famous scholars in Bangalore. He has set up a non-profit organization called Mahabharatha samshodhana PrathisTana and is doing activities under that group. His estimates of the costs are about $250 initial investment and $300 monthly charges that include sambhavana and technical uploading costs. The lectures would be set up as streaming audio using Real audio technology. Most PCs have Real audio players (available for free) installed. You will be able to download the lessons as well. We may also have the questions answered by the Guru either offline (through E-mails) or through an online chat. Ramachandra is thinking that he will start with sri mahAbharatha tatparya nirNaya which is an introductory text that students start with. He is open to ideas and we could have classes at different levels if there is a need. The teachers will be top notch scholars in Bangalore. We can decide on the details later. Initial ideas are that lessons would be mainly in Kannada and Sanskrit/Kannada. If there is a strong demand for English translations, we will consider that. We are also thinking of a lesson for children of age 12-20 in English once a month. Your feedback is important and please give that to the list or to -owner I want to check in this community if there is interest in doing this. We want to raise funds using subscriptions. We need 10 students at a $30 /month level or 20 students at $15/month level. We expect the lessons to be freely available to everybody. So, the rs will be doing a " shastra pravachana daana " to the rest of the folks. Many thanks to Sri Prahlad Kulkarni, who has agreed to coordinate the financial aspects of getting this started. Please E-mail him at kprahlad if you are interested in subscribing to the lessons. This could be truly innovative way to get shastra pATha any where in the world from the best people in the field. Please let this group know what you think about this. Hare srinivasa, Regards, Vasu Murthy
