The ArADhana celebrations of kaliyuga kAmaDhEnu - kalpavRuxa -

chimthAmaNi, shrI praHlAdha - shrI bAhlIka - shrI vyAsarAja incarnate,

embodiment of j~Jana - bhakthi - thapa, mamtrAlaya niVasa

shrI rAghavEmdhra thIrTharu was celebrated on a very grand scale

by the West Coast Chapter of VMS in coordination with shrI vyAsa

bhajana mamdaLi and Shri Shiva-Vishnu temple, Livermore at the

community hall of Shri Shiva-Vishnu temple on 27th August, 2000.

 

This day happened to be bhAnuvAsara (Sunday) combined with puShya naxathra -

[ sOma sUryO parAgEcha puShyArkAdhi samAgame ].

As the saying goes, 'gALi bamdha kaiyali thUrikoLLiro' - 'Make hay while sun

shines', the sADhakAs of Bay Area and its adjoining areas

participated in the celebrations and were immeresed in day-long gamgA

pravAha, thus making it a milestone in their sADhana.

 

The programme started off with sthOthra paTana which included shrI

vEnkatEsha sthOthra, shrI hari-vAyu sthuthi, shrI rAghavEndhra sthOthra

punascharana & shrI vijayarAyara kavacha. During the sthOthra paTana,

maDhu abhiShEka was performed to the prathimAs of shrI hari-vAyu &

shrI rAyaru.

 

This event was followed by a lecture in Kannada by ShrI H. GuruPrasad,

who spoke on the contributions of shrI mamthrAlaya prabhugaLu with

specific quotations from gIthA vivRuththi.

 

The lecture was followed by pamchAmRutha abhiShEka and shOdashOpachAra

pUja to shrI hari-vAyu-gurugaLu by shrI Dixitharu who is well-known for

his excellent rendition of vEdha mamthrAs.

 

After the pUjA of shrI hari-vAyu-gurugaLu in achala prathimegaLu, it

was the time to perform His pUja in chalaprathimegaLu. pUja to pamcha

braHmaNAs representing pamcha shrI hari rUpAs - pamcha shrI laxmI

rUpAs - pamcha mukhya prANa ruPas and all svOththamAs was performed and

they were treated with 'suruchi' - 'ruchira' - 'sugamDha' - 'suchi'

padhArThas. The credit for preparing such a delicious prasAdha would

definitely go to a team of devoted volunteers lead by Shri Seshagiri

Rao, Shri Ramu, Shri Vasu and the gang. During the entire session,

Smt. Shubha Seshagiri Rao, with her pleasant voice, pleased the

antharyAmi of all those present with dhEvaranAmas which were filled

with devotion and bhakthi.

 

The alamkAra panmkthi was followed by distribution of prasAdha to all

devotees.

 

In the afternoon session, Shri Raghavendra Prasanna delivered a lecture

in English bringing out the mahima shrI rAyaru through his miracles and

also involved everyone present to recount any miracles that they

experienced personally. No doubt every xaNa is due to anugraha of

shrI hari-vAyu-gurugaLu.

 

Later on, I had the opportunity of reading out the ashIrvachana of

shrI suguNemdhra thIrTharu, Puthige MaTa, blessing the SVBM

organization.

 

The program ended with a bhajana session, harivANa sEva and sarva

samarpaNa by Shri VyAsa Bhajana Mandali.

Vishnu Temple, Livermore especially Shri ParimalAchAryaru and

Shri Vinay Kallesh, without whose support this function wouldn't have
