Guest guest
hari sarvottamma, vaayu jiivottamma shrii gurubhyo namaha shrii kR^iShNa parabrahmane namaha Dear Krishnabhakthas: I apologize for the long delay in the postings. I would like to continue postings on Bhaghavat Gita lectures by Sri Sathyadhyana Theertha. Intha prabhuva kAneno, E jagadolu Shobha Srinivasan MUKTHI NAIJA SUKHA NUBHUTHIHI: DESCRIPTION OF NATURE OF MUKTHI: MUKTHI SVARUPA NIRUPANA: ESTABLISHMENT OF MUKTHI ENJOYMENT OF SVARUPANANDA OF JEEVAS BG 6-28: Yogi who is devoid of all other desires & remains always in the firm dhyana of paramathma, without difficulty experiences the happiness arising from his relationship with brahma. In this state, the three things 1. Yogi who is enjoying the happiness 2. the happiness which has arisen from the sight of Brahma 3. The experience of the yogi who is actually experiencing the happiness have been clearly & separately described. Krishna has clearly said that parama Mukthi is experience of happiness. BG 5-21: The jnanee who has concentrated his mind in dhyana of Brahma only enjoys permanent endless happiness. Since continuous enjoyment without break for ever is not available in samsara stage, it is clear that the description given in BG 5-21 is only in the Mukthi so in Mukthi, the chethana has the awareness of himself, the object of his enjoyment & how he is enjoying. There is no pain or sorrow in mukthi & the enjoyment is continuous for ever without break. The thing called " Aham " is not destroyed. The same meaning is given to slokas in Bhaghavatha " MukthirhithvanyathvanyatharupAm svarupena vyavasthi thihi " . If we say that chethana changes his status in he which has happiness mixed with sorrow & pain, again & again, to a stage where he had happiness continuous forever in Mukthi; then this would be the correct statement, made in accordance with sentences of BG. The thing called " Aham " i.e. a jeeva who has happiness as his nature escapes from the stage he had acquired in samsara where he had happiness mixed with sorrow & pain & enters a stage in Mukthi where he has continuous happiness without any pain or sorrow for him; the stage in Mukthi is just regaining his original stage. But in advaitha, since jeeva by nature is brahma, there is no question of regaining his original nature. Therefore it becomes clear that Mukthi for chethana is the enjoyment of his intrinsic happiness without destruction of jeeva bhava. The statement that chethana in Mukthi enjoys his intrensic happiness which arises after he has become free from ignorance (avidhya) is also indicated by sentences from Krishna For Krishna has said " Akshayam Sukhamastuthe " ie. Muktha enjoys permanent happiness forever. This Jeeva can enjoy his natural happiness only if he is different from Brahma. Since is advaitha, jeeva always remains as Brahma & Brahma is nirguna, the Brahmaikya is as good as jeeva becoming a Jada only if he is different from Brahma. Again Krishna says: Yogi who practices nishkarma karma, with the intention of surrendering all results to God, attains " Naishtikim santhim " i.e. natural & very good happiness, or his intrensic happiness which has arisen after he became free from ignorance & attained Mukthi. Question: Swamy, You have told us that freedom from ignorance (avidhya) is Mukthi. How this avidhya can cover a jeeva who is a jnanee intrinsically? You have told us Brahma by nature jnana & avidhya cannot attack him. This should apply in Dvaita system also for Jeeva.
