Thanksgiving weekend satsangha at Allentown

Dear Krishnabaktas:

 

Couple of weeks ago I sent a mail to VMS volunteer list on holding a

satsangha at Allentown, PA during the thanksgiving holidays. I have given

below the agenda and format of the satsangha. We will be pleased to have

you all attend the satsangh

here. Accommodation for out of towners will be arranged within the host

families at Allentown. Please let me know by this weekend (by Nov. 20th)

whether you are attending so that we can make appropriate arrangements.

 

Satsangha at Allentown, Nov. 23-25, 2000

 

Sri Puthige Mutt Swamiji will grace the occasion with his presence and pooja

to Sri Vittala devaru.

Thursday 23rd Nov.

4:40 PM: Swamiji arrives at Allentown Airport

5:30 PM: Formally receive swamiji at my house

6:00 PM: Session 1: Subject - jIva kartruthva - introduction by Sri

7:30 PM: Evening pooja

9:00 PM: Dinner

 

Friday 24th Nov.

08:30 AM: Session 2: Subject TBD - introduction by Sri (Dr) Nagaraja Rao

10:30 AM: Mahapooja

04:00 PM: Session 3: TBD - introduction by Sri Balaji Hebbar

06:30 PM: Evening pooja

08:00 AM: Session 4: jIva Isvara bheda - introduction by Sri

Format of the philosophy sessons is as follows:

 

Each speaker chooses (or chose) a topic and gives both pUrvapaxa and

siddhAnta views as introduction. Then others including the audience can

participate in an open format discussion by taking either the pUrvapaxa or

siddhAnta side for further elaboration or discussion. Bagavad gita has been

suggested as the reference material for discussion. Finally swamiji will

conclude the topic chosen for discussion at the end of each session. The

intention is to discuss one topic in some depth and gain some understanding

within the operating limitations.

 

Bhajan sessions will be held during during Evening Pooja and theertha

prasada times.
