Guest guest
Haridasa Mahithi Sanchayana : A Computer-Based Project. Haridasa information comprises of lives nearly 350 haridasas, about 30,000 songs and more than 6000 articles and books on haridasa sahithya. No other devotional literature in the world surpasses the above. Even today the haridasa tradition continues, which is again unique. But then it is widely scattered. The printed and the manuscript material is not readily available in any library. Further, the available information in many instances is either vague or incorrect. It is therefore a great hindrance in locating any song, or biographical details of Haridasas, or in taking up a topic for study. Hence, the creation of a database on Haridasa information. Its Computer storage has been planned in the following fields: a) Biographical details of Haridasas b) Songs; the composers; the subject matter; and their availability. c) Bibliographic data, such as Author, Publisher and the Subject. An important aspect to note is that the entire information is being input in Kannada script and sorted according to any subfield. Although the Kannada script is employed extensively for DTP, its processing for study purposes and for locating any information on Haridasa Sahithya was not done earlier. It is BREAK THROUGH. However information can be sought on: a) Individual Haridasas b) Any of their songs c) Bibliographic listings on Authors, Titles, and subjects covered therein d) Songs and writings on any specific subjects such as Avataratraya, Udupi Shri Krishna, Shri Raghvendra Swamiji.. You are invited to seek any information on the above lines in Dasa Sahithya.
