MUKTHI NAIJA SUKHA NUBHUTHIHI: DESCRIPTION OF NATURE OF MUKTHI: MUKTHI

SVARUPA NIRUPANA: ESTABLISHMENT OF MUKTHI ENJOYMENT OF SVARUPANANDA OF

JEEVAS

Question: Swamy, What are the obstructions for enjoyment of intrinsic

happiness to jeeva? & what are the different kinds of Mukthi that will

accrue to jeeva after the removal of all obstuction.

Answer: Sri Krishna says BG 7-13/14: All chethanas due to ignorance are

not able to understand my real nature, which is different from the nature of

normal beings they come across in the world. I am playful, my wish also

acts as obstruction; there are two more the jadaprakruthi & presiding

chethana parakruthi of jada prakruthi, both are under My control. All these

three acts as obstruction for jiva to understand my nature correctly.

According to Sruthi " Anadhi Mayaya supthaha " these three covers are from

beginningless time. Krishna has said that all jeevas are bound by

prakruthi, in three more places.

BG 13-22: The jeeva remaining in the body made of prakruthi experiences

gunas born from prakruthi. He gets birth in good & bad yonies according to

sathva raja thamagunas.

BG 18-40: Jeevas not bound by prakruthi gunas of sathva, raja, & thamo are

not found anywhere on earth or in heaven, either among human beings or among

devathas.

BG 18-59: Due to pride, if you feel you are not going to fight, your

decision is a waste, My ichcha (wish) prompts you to fight. Ignorance is

also an obstruction.

BG 5-15: The intrinsic knowledge of jeeva is covered by ignorance. Krishna

says that desire (kama) is a strong obstruction.

BG 3-37 to 39: Hey, Arjuna, desire is the strong prompter of sinful action

desire. Desire is the cause for anger which arises from rajo guna. Desire

is full of necessity for many things. It is the root cause of great sins

like Brahmahathya. Desire is the main obstruction for attaining Mukthi.

This acts as obstruction for all classes of jeevas for sathvika people, it

is like fire covered by smoke, for rajasic people, it is like mirror covered

by dust. For the thamasic people, it is like a baby covered by womb of the

mother. This desire, not only covers the jeeva itself but covers the

knowledge acquired through sasthras & obstructs aparoksha jnana. It is

never satisfied with any thing that is obtained.

Likes & dislikes, misunderstanding (moha) act as obstruction for gaining

Brahma jnana & intrinsic knowledge.

BG 7-27: At the time of creation, all chethanas have (moha)

missunderstanding due to liking for everything that appears convenient,

disliking for everything that appears to be in convenient, from such couples

(dhvandhva) arising, pleasure & pain, gain & loss, cold & heat, ignorance of

these & the opposite qualities of jeeva & aspects & purnathva of God.

(jeeva may feel due to ignorance that opposite qualities are false. I am

equal to paramathma, I know everything etc.,... Krishna says beginning less

karma is also an obstruction.

BG 18-60: Hey Kunthee's son, you have been bound strongly by your own karma

that has arisen either due to your svabhava or due to earlier training

(samskara). Therefore, the karma which you do not like to do due to your

self interest in your relatives, being subordinate to God who prompts you to

do work according to your previous karma, you will execute the wish of God.

In this way, though by nature, jeeva has intrinsic knowledge, but being

bound by many obstructions from beginning less time not being able to see

paramathma, who is known as " suhrudam sarvabhuthanam' i.e. he is a relative

for every one without any compelling reason, always remaining in the heart

of every chethana controlling the chethana in every respect but not being

able to understand his intrinsic jnana & ananda chethana remains in samsara

suffereing. By grace of God, this bandha is removed. That is mukthi. All

these things have been taught, briefly in his words " sukham

bandhath-pramachyathe " " Sarvadhurgani math prasadhath tharishyasthi " From

this, it is clear that jeeva has many obstructions for him to understand God

properly & to become aware of his intrinsic knowledge & Ananda & by grace of

God, all obstructions could be removed.

Shastras declare that there are four kinds of Mukthi entering into the body

of paramathma, & enjoying happiness there is called sayujya mukthi. To

secure the same appearance as paramathma is sarupya mukthi. To remain in

lokas like vaikunta, near paramathma having his dharasanu & remaining

enjoying happiness is called sAmeepya Mukthi. Remaining in the same loka as

paramathma & enjoying happiness is called salokya mukthi. All the four

kinds of jeevas becoming devoid of bandha due to grace of God & attain

parabrahma, & enjoying happiness is called salokya mukthi. All the four

kinds of jeevas becoming devoid of bandha due to grace of God & attain

parabrahma, & enjoy their intrinsic happiness. Therefore, the different

sentences describing Mukthi can be interpreted as any kind of Mukthi.

Exinction of all sins & freedom from the necessity of doing karma, has been

said to be Mukthi by Krishna.

BG 3-13: A person who eats the remaining food, after the original food is

offered to God, then vaisvadeva is done, then bali harana is done, then

athithi sathkara is done, will gain jnana & become free from all sins &

attain Mukthi.

BG 4-14: One who understands that Karma does not affect Krishna & he has no

interest in the result of any karma will not be affected by Karma. (this

means that the chethana who understands is above, attains Mukthi, through

aparoksha jnana).

BG 4-16: I shall teach you the nature of Karma by understanding which you

will attain Mukthi (through aparokshajnana).

BG 4-36: You will get over & become free from all sins in the boat of jnana

(i.e. you will attain Mukthi).

BG 9-1: I teach you the secret truth, knowing which you will become free

from all sins (i.e attain Mukthi).

BG 18-58: One who has kept his mind steadily in Me, by My grace, he will

become free from all trouble (he attains Mukhti after all his karma is

destroyed).

BG 18-66: I shall free you from all sins ( I shall give you Mukthi) do not

grieve.

Krishna has said in three to four places, that freedom of bondage is Mukthi.
