Anantha Rangacharya, a renowned scholar of Indian Philosophy. Dr. Anantha Rangacharya studied Vedanta in the traditional manner at the feet of Vedanta Vidvan, Vedanta Sarajna Sri U.Ve. Krishna Tatacharya Swami. He received the B.A. (Hons), B.T., and Ph.D. degrees from Mysore University. For many years he was Principal of Maharaja's Sanskrit College, Mysore. He is well known for his deep study of all the major philosophers of Vedanta and for his unbiased presentation of Vedantic fundamentals, which is a treat for the open-minded. He has the distinct honor of teaching the works of Sri Sankaracharya at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan four times, a feat rarely matched by scholars of any background. He has authored over 90 books on Vedanta in both English and Kannada, including translations of the principal Upanishads, detailed expositions of the commentaries of Sri Ramanuja, the Tiruvaymoli of Sri Nammalvar, and many other works of both popular and scholarly interest. He is a tireless lecturer and has conducted discourses in English, Tamil, and Kannada without a break for many years in Bangalore.
