As per New York flushing temple calender, the Dasami starts Friday Feb 16th, 12:20 pm & ends Saturday Feb 17th 2:22 pm & New York flushing temple calender is accurate. Hence, Sunday Feb 18th is Ekadashi. I have double checked with the astrology software I have. So, according to Srimad Acharya, the harivAsara & fasting begins from 2:23 pm, Saturday afternoon onwards.

For this, we give the following information :

1. longitude & lattitude of the place, in our case, New York City

2. time, EST or EDT

Once we feed this information to the astrology software, we get to know the sunrise, sunset, thithi information & ofcourse the detailed heroscope also. Uttradhi Mutta panchanga is good & accurate for Indian Standard time.

There seems to be some confusion about Ekadashi dates this month in USA.

For NY coordinate:

Sunrise time at NY on 18th: 6:14 AM EDT

Dasami ending time: 5:49 AM EDT Wed. April 18th, puje, theertha prasada before 5:49am; (ekAdasi thithi begins 5:50am)

As per KrishnAmritha maharnava, thithi on Wednesday is Dasami (thithi that is 1.5 hrs before sunrise).

ekAdasi ending time: 8:00 AM EDT Thu., April 19th

Hence, thithi on Thursday is ekAdasi

dwAdasi ending time: 9:41 AM EDT on Friday, April 20th.

For SanFrancisco cocordinates:

Getting the thithi ending times from the software is tedious. So I just checked the thithi 1.5 hrs before the sunrise for SFO.

Sunrise: 6:30am (Pacific time),

April 17th, 5:00am, Dasami.

April 18th, 5:00am, Ekadashi

April 19th, 5:00 am, Dwadashi

So for, our friends at SFO, ekAdasi is a day earlier than East Coasters & fasting is much longer for east coast devotees!

This is just for your information.

Yes, since there is a trace of dashami, so no fasting today for EDT, CDT.

Moon's position in earth will remain the same for everyone at every given

moment of time.

Incase of Pacific Daylight savings time, Ekadashi is today because Ekadashi

started at 5:50am Eastern daylight savings time (EDT) today which mean

Ekadashi starts at 3 am PDT. The sunrise in SFO is 6:30 am. Hence, 1 1/2

hours before sunrise, the moon is already in Ekadashi thithi at SFO. I just

checked from our software the thithi 2:49am PDT which was dasami & 2:50 am

PDT which was Ekadashi.
