Guest guest
Dear Devotees of Lord Hari Namaskara We are very happy to inform you that the Sri-Madwamanavami was celebrated on Sunday Feb.-11 in a grand scale here at NOVI-Michigan (VMS-Michigan chapter). Our program started at 9.00am with stotra parayana by chanting suprabatha, suktas, Sri-vishnusahasranama, suktas, Dashavatara stuthi , krishnashtaka, Vayustuti and Sumadwavijaya. It took all of us to a great spiritual feeling as if we were back home in india.Sri madwanami is the first function in our(vms-michigan) 2001 calender and also we are blessed and happy to inform you all that innaguartion of Bhagavata sapthaha by Sri-Gopinath Galagali. He will be completing the bhagavatha sapthaha over next 6 lectures during 2001 activity. After stotra parayana at 11.0 AM Sri Galgali took over the stage and gave introduction to Sri-Bhagavata.It was a great spiritual feast to all of us who participated in madwanavami celebrations. Sri-Galagalicovered the birth of parikshith maharaja and the portion of mahabharatha. As Sri-Galagali told it is reallya "amrutha" to the ears for the spiritual souls to purify the mind. After the discourse followed mangalarthi and sumptuous lunch. During post lunch Dr Nagaraj Kotekal drove all the way from Pittsburgh to deliver lecture on prameya shloka by Sri-Vyasathirtha and how the prameya shloka is similar to what Sri-Madwacharya has written in Bhagawadgita-tatparya. The meaning of Kshara & Akshara, the place of lakshmi according to dvaita school of thought. Dr Nagaraj also discussed how Sri-madwa has explained in bhagavadgita tatparya about kshara & akshara and how A-dvaita and Vishitadvaita fails to explain the meaning. He explained the most intricate issues in a very simpler way. The program was concluded by a VMS-michigan bajana mandali by singing devaranamas. we request all the those who are in nearby cities like chicago/toledo/pittsburgh & other near by states to make use this "rare-opportunity" to listen sri-bhagavatha during our next activities.
