Dear Fellow Jijnaasus,

I want to call your attention to a lecture in English on

Kena Upanishad by Sri Sri Rangapriya Swami which will take

place this Saturday evening, US time. It is a telephone

lecture, meaning that Sri Rangapriya Swami will be speaking

a teleconference bridge that into which you can dial and

listen.

For those of who have not heard of Sri Rangapriya Swami:

he is a well-known and highly respected sannyasi and scholar

resident in Bangalore. His ashrama is known as Sri Ashtanga Yoga

Vijnana Mandira, and Swami is a great advocate of bhakti-yoga. He

belongs to the tradition of Sri Ramanuja but his vision sees past

sectarian boundaries and he regularly pays homage to all

the great thinkers of the vaidika dharma including Srimad

Ananda Tirtha. In fact, in his first discourse on the meaning

of the term " Narayana " he cited Srimad Ananda Tirtha several

times, and paid the highest respects to this great acharya.

Sri Rangapriya Swami is a lucid speaker in English and

one of the most mature, composed personalities that I have

had the good fortune of seeing. He is known to never have

uttered an ill word about anyone and is always a source of

inspiration for those who seek his advice. I invite

all of you to join in this Saturday evening.

Normally, we (the organizers of the talk) ask for an $8

donation to pay for the teleconference bridge and

long-distance call to India. I know many people are

reluctant to listen for the first time this reason.

So, we are making this lecture free to all members of

VMS. After listening, if you felt the lecture was worthwhile,

please feel free to then make a donation. It is entirely

your choice.

Lecture details are produced below:

TOPIC: Kena Upanishad

DATE: March 17, 2001 (Saturday evening, US time)

Web Page: http://www.ramanuja.org/svss/rangapriya.html

You must send email to rangapriya to receive

anything in the email; the details will be automatically sent

Once again, I invite you to join in listening to this lecture

this Saturday.

vaishnava-dAsa,
