Dear Haribakthas,

The last weekend (May 5th Saturday, May 6th Sunday) was very special

for madhva bandhus in Bay area, for having a marathon session of

satsanga, discourses, Bhajans, pooja etc. to get the best blessings of

Lord Shri Vedavyasa and Lord Shri Narashimha. It was very unique and

with the blessing of Shri Hari, Shri Vayu the functions were grand

success.

Shri Vedavyasa Jayanthi was hosted by Smt Jyothi & Shri VishnuPrasad

at the 'Club house' of 'Arches' apartment complex. The programs

started with ''sthothra parayana'' of Shri Vishnu Sahasranama, Shri

vedavyasa stothra, Shri Hari Vayu Sthuthi punascharana as per Shri

Vadiraja swamy, Shri Raghvendra Sthothra, Shri Vijayadasara Kavacha

etc followed by devotional songs on Lord Shri Vedavyasa.

Then, Shri Sheshagiri briefly talked about the mahima of Lord Shri

Vedavyasa. Shri Sheshagiri briefly explained the specific

circumstances which required the incarnation of Lord Shri Hari as Shri

Vedavyasa. We all know, pure jnana is very very important for 'sadhana'

and without jnana, all the efforts would be mere waste. It is Lord

Shri Vedavyasa to whom we should be ever grateful for bring back the

disappeared 'jnana' to this world by reformatting the Vedas and

producing Puranas & Mahabharatha. Shri Vedavyasa is ever residing at

Badari and continually helping satvic souls for their 'sadhana',

through his disciples Shri Acharya Madhva, Shri Vadiraja Thirtha etc.

Shri Acharya Madhva visited Shri Vedavyasa twice and offered his

writings on Geetha, Mahabharatha, Upanishath etc. Shri Acharya

Madhva's commentaries are approved by none other than Lord Shri

Vedavyasa himself and that's why these commentaries are the final

authorities on the works of Shri Vedavyasa. Similarly Shri Vadiraja

swamiji was also blessed by Lord Shri Vedavyasa to write another

commentary on Mahabharatha, popularly known " Lakshalankara " . Shri

Vadiraja swamiji has established icon of Lord Shri Vedavyasa in front

of 'Pancha vrandavana' in Sode. Let us all pray Lord Shri

Vedavyasa to bless us with pure jnana and devotion.

Next we had pooja to Lord Vedavyasa followed by thirtha prasada. Shri

Sheshagiri and team did an excellent job of preparing the delicious

food and the lunch session was still more spiritual with 'devaranama'

throughout.

On this occasion Shri Vishnu and family celebrated their son

Nishanth's first birth day, to get the best blessing of Lord Shri

Vedavyasa and Shri Vayu. The team of Haribhakthas, wished the

little kid a long life with tons of health and wealth. In the evening

session we had bhajans and mangalarathi to Lord Vedavyasa. Though

there was another program scheduled next day, the members were so

enthusiastic that it was midnight when the doors were finally closed.

Shri Narashimha Jayanthi:

Sunday, May 6th was yet another auspicious day of Shri Narashimha

Jayanthi, hosted by Smt Sandhya and Shri Harish at their apartment in

'Gardens of Fontainblue' complex, Cupertino. The members were ready at

9:00 a.m to start another spiritual day with Sthothra paTana of Vishnu

Saharsanama, Shri Narashimha stuthi and R^unavimochana Narashimha

Stothra. Next Shri Hari Vayu stuthi punascharana as per Shri Vyasaraja

Thirtha, with honey Abhishekam to Lord Hari and Lord Mukhyaprana was

performed by all devotees. Sthothra patana continued with Shri

Raghavendra Sthothra Vijayarayara Kavacha and devotional songs on Lord

Narashimha . On this auspicious day, many families had brought 'panaka'

and 'kosambari' to offer to Lord Narashimha. Shri Sathyanarayana

performed 'panakapooja' and 'mahamangalarathi' to Lord Narashimha and

all devotees had a grand feast of 'panaka' and 'kosambari' .

Shri Balu described the mahima of Lord Narashimha in two parts. In

the pre lunch session, story of Jaya -Vijaya which was the background

history for Lord Hari's four avataras, was well narrated by Shri

Balu and in the evening session, he described mahima of Shri Prahlad

Raja. Shri Krishna Pandurangi enlightened the devotees with discourse

on Bagavatha and Bagavadgeetha. In between the sessions, we had grand

feast of prasadam, well appreciated by one and all, again the credit

goes to Sheshagiri and team, supported by Smt Sandhya. Shri BT

Kulkarni and family served the devotees with mouth watering Dharwad

peda, a rare dish in this country.

The program was concluded in the evening, with Taratamya Bhajan and

then mangalarathi to Lord Narashimha. Many senior members who were

visiting their son/daughter here, were so happy to get this

opportunity and appreciated the team for conducting this program. A

senior person exclaimed " I never ever thought of this kind of

celebration in this country. May God bless you all with much more

devotion and interest " . Truly we need all the blessings and guidance

from all seniors and all the credit goes to Shri Sathyanarayana for

leading the team young and dynamic volunteers.

May Lord Narashima, Shri Laxmi, Shri Vayu bless all of us to spend

our life more in this kind of spiritual satsanga and devotional

sessions.

Our next program is Shri Brahmnaya Thirtha Aradana and Shri

Sripadaraja Thirtha Aradhana. Please join us on this occasion and get

blessings of Shri Hari, Shri Vayu and Shri Guru.

Shri Krishnarpanamastu.

B.Gopalakrishna
