Guest guest
Shri Haribhakthas, Shri Brahmanya Thirtha Aradhana The aradhana function of Suryaamsha sambhutha Shri Brahmanya Thirtha was celebrated by VMS/SVBM members on Sunday May 20th. On this occasion Smt Suma & Shri Srihari transformed their residence to a mini temple for worshipping Shri Hari, Shri Vayu and Shri Guru. Also they celebrated first birthday their son Chi Ananda Thirtha on this holy day to get the best blessings of Shri Lord and all haribhakthas. By this new tradition, we are not only strengthening our culture, at the same time imparting proper orientation to our younger generation. This is the third celebration we had in the short span of 3 months and I wish many others also follow this good tradition. The aradhana function started with Shri Vishnu Sahasra Nama followed by Shri Hari Vayu stuthi punascharane and Abhishekam to Shri Vayu with honey. Later devotees offered prayer to Shri Brahmanya Thirtha with the " Panchaka " composed by Shri Vyasaraja Thirtha. Sthothra parayana continued with Shri Raghavendra Sthothra and Shri Vijayarayara Kavacha. Next Shri Krishna Pandurangi gave a discourse on Shri Brahmanya Thirtha. He touched upon the Guru parampara of the three popular maThas : Uttaradhi, Shri Vyasaraya and Shri Rayara maTa and explained the mahima of Shri Brahmanya Thirtha. At noon, mangalarathi was offered to Lord Shri Hari, Shri Vayu and Shri Guru and the host family celebrated the first birth day of Chi. Ananda Thirtha. All the haribhakthas blessed the young boy and wished him a long life with strong health, plenty of wealth and deep devotion towards Shri Hari. Meanwhile Shri Ramachandra Rao, father of Srihari distributed two small booklets " Sthothra Mahodadhi " and " Laghu SthothraNi " containing useful sthothras for daily recitation. These booklets were published by Madhva Sangha, Shimoga, under the guidance of Shri Shripadacharya. We are all grateful to Shri Ramachandra Rao for carrying all these books across the globe, with the sole intention of supporting our activities and sadhana. This is yet another new tradition we need to adopt and popularize. Next was the very important part of the program -Thirtha Prasad. It was a grand feast of Panch bhakxa paramaanna. Smt Sudha, mother of Srihari had spent all the day preparing huge lump of five sweets - sweet pongal, Kesari Bath, Hayagreeva, Burfi, and payasam. Each one was so delicious and the birth day lunch was much more than a marriage lunch. In the post lunch session, Shri Pandurangi continued his discourse and spoke on Navavidha bhakthi and Nava vidha dwesha. Later we had taratamya Bhajan. Smt Subha Sheshagiri's wonderful recitation of " sapnapada " of Shri Vadiraaja Thirtha was the highlight of the day. The spontaneous start and non stop flow of the " sapnapada " describing Shri Hari's mahima and Avatharas, is just a small token of Smt Subha's talent in Bhajans. With the mangalarathi to Lord and to the little Ananda Thirtha, the day was concluded. Our next function is Shri Shripadaraja Thirtha Aradana. Please mark your calender and make it convenient to participate in this aradhana function.
