Guest guest
Shri Shripadaraja Thirtha Aradhana by SVBM (http://www.svbm.org) With the blessing of Shri Hari, Shri Vayu and Shri Guru, the volunteers of SVBM / VMS (West Coast Chapter) celebrated aradhana of Shri Dhruvamsha sambhutha Shri Shripadaraja Thirtha on Sunday June 3rd. As the saying goes, just by praying Shripadaraja in the morning, one would get sumptuous lunch and so what could be missing in his Aradhana function!!!!. It was a day long feast for all the devotees and here is another opportunity for me to pray HIM by narrating the day's events. The program was held at Smt Parimala and Shri Sathyanarayana's residence which is more popular as Bay Area Madhva MaTha. The house had gained additional spiritual flavor due to Shri Sathyanaraya's total dedication and deep devotion for the celebration. The dais for the pooja was so well decorated with flowers, lights, the photos of all great saint, their Vrandavans and other pooja items, that my words are no way nearer to that. To start with, Shri Sathya announced the message from Shri Mulubhagilu maTha and distributed the brochures sent from them. This year (2001-2002), being the 6th centenary year, the devotees at Mulabhagilu are planning to celebrate the aradhana everyday throughout the year. People are requested to participate in this great event by visiting Mulabhagalu any time during whole year. More details can be seen at http://www.madhva.net/srIpAdarAjamatha/events.asp The program started with Shri Venkatesha sthothra and all devotees performed Honey Abhishekam to Shri Lord Hari and Shri Vayu during Shri Hari Vayu punaschanane as per Shri Vyasaraja Thirtha tradition. The sthothra parayana continued with ShriPadaraja Pancharatna Malika, Shri Raghavendra Sthothra, Shri Vijaya Rayara Kavacha etc. Then it was the time to listen to Shri Balu about Shri Dhruva Raja, the mUla roopa of Shri Shripadarajaru. Shri Balu explained Shri Dhruva's intense devotion towards Lord in detail and narrated how the youngest devotee at the age of five, performed tapas, pleased Shri Hari, got his best blessing and obtained the highest position of " Dhruva Loka " . Next Shri Krishna Pandurangi took over to continue on Shri Shripadaraja Thirtha. As the name itself indicates, he was king of all saints with a big crown of achievements and mahima. In the pre-lunch session, Shri Krishna Pandurangi briefly mentioned about Shri Shripadaraja Thirtha's predecessors and childhood of Shri Shripadaraja Thirtha. It was Shri Shripadaraja Thirtha who popularised the haridasa movement with his songs, bhajans dance and what else would be more appropriate than bhajans to please his. Star of the musical noon was Shri Sathish Jamakhandi who with his melodious voice and devotional tune, the audience forget the running clock. Smt Sudha, Shri Rajiv, Smt Subha Sheshagiri and many other devotees continued the bhajan and it was really getting late !!!!. Later Shri Krishna Pandurangi performed mahamangalarathi to Shri Lord, Shri Vayu and Shri Shripadaraja followed by traditional feast, no need to mention the list of rich dishes. In the post lunch session Smt Subha Sheshagiri continued with Shri Shripadaraja's devotional songs. We are very proud to have this great singer with us who is blessed with best voice and talent, more over well supported by her partner who himself is not less than any good singer. Late Shri Krishna Pandurangi described in detail the life and mahima of Shri Shripadaraja. It is beyond my capacity to pen down here those mahimas and we are really blessed to listen to Shri Pandurangi, who hails from a great scholarly family. Though it was already 8:30 pm, devotees are still eager to continue with the regular taratamya bhajans for some more time. After the mangalarathi, followed by shobhane and lali , the aradhana ended with sarva samarpana to Shri Lord Hari. We are very happy to see many senior devotees participating in the aradhana functions and many volunteers are coming forward to offer help. SVBM/VMS sincerely acknowledges all the help and service by many families and volunteers. For outstation people: Please contact VMS volunteers, whenever you are around this place and join us during Aradhana function. Our next programs are 1) Shri Vijayendra Thirtha Aradhana 2) Prathama Ekadashi 3) Shri Jaya Thirtha Aradhana Shri Krishnarpanamastu.
