Report on Sri Sugunendra theertha swamiji's visit to the Washington area

Here is a brief report on Sri Sri Sugunendra theertha

swamiji's visit to the Washington area. Swamiji was

in the Washington area from June 18th through June

24th. He conducted poojas on many devotees homes

throughout the week. During the weekend he conducted

poojas at two temples in the Washington area, RajdhAni

mandir and Sri Siva VishNu temple. Poojas were well

attended by people in the community. Swamiji also

participated in a children's conference on Saturday,

details of which have already been posted to this

forum. Swamiji left for India from Washington on June

24th.

 

Swamiji's discourses during the week will be

posted in a separate posting. Sri Sugunendra Theertha

swamiji's visit after 2 years to the Washington area

provided a much needed boost to the mAdhva spiritual

activities in the Washington area.

 

I want to take the opportunity of conclusion of

Swamiji's tour to take a retrospective look at the

changes in the mAdhva community in the US during the

last couple of years after Swamiji started visiting

here. mAdhva community in the US is much more

organized with 5-6 active chapters celebrating various

mAdhva festivals. There are classes for children and

satsanga for adults on a regular basis. There are

forums such as this for networking and exchanging

ideas for the mAdhva community. I have seen remarkable

spiritual growth of people in the community. All this

is possible due to the decision of Sri Sugunendra

theertha swamiji to consider the needs of the mAdhva

community abroad for spiritual guidance. On behalf of

the mAdhva community, I want to show our gratitude and

respects to Sri Sugunendra theertha swamiji.
