Ground rules for the Chat with Dr. PrabhanjanAchArya

Dear KrishNa bhaktas,

Here are operating ground rules for Chat with

Dr. PrabhanjanAchArya on Sunday 8/19/01 at 10:45 AM.

 

Before the chat:

 

* Please submit the questions in advance to

livechat. Questions submitted in

advance will have priority over questions submitted

during chat.

* You should have Instant Messenger (YIM)

and Microsoft Messenger (MSM) on your PC. Please

e-mail YIM and MSM IDs to vasu_murthy and

livechat. ( His ID is

vasu_murthy, MSM ID is krishnasmile)

* We will use YIM for the chat. If there are any

problems, we may switch to MSM.

* Enable Audio feature of the YIM. There is a

voice on button at the lower left corner of YIM

window. Use it to turn on the audio feature. You need

to have a recent version of the YIM to use this

feature.

* Check how your audio and microphone work by

audio chatting with a friend before hand. Some times

microphone sensitivity must be tuned.

* Place the microphones away from the speakers.

Otherwise, there will be feed back and distorted

voice.

 

 

During the Chat:

 

* Chat begins at 10:45 AM EDT sharp. Dr.

PrabhanjanAchArya is a very busy person. We should be

respectful of the time has agreed to spend with us.

* If you arrive late, you will still be added in.

Please be respectful of the ongoing session. Do not

greet others when you get in late. Please use the

etiquette rules of entering a discourse hall in the

middle of a discourse.

* Vasu Murthy will coordinate the logistics of the

chat. He will start the conference and add members to

the conference as they arrive in the YIM.

* YIM has a bug in that it is difficult to add a

member who has dropped out for any reason including

problems with dial-up line. It is most likely that you

will NOT be added back to the chat. Please bear with

this restriction. We will try to find solution to this

problem by next time.

* Exception to the above rule is if Sri

Ramachandra's line fails. We all know the quality of

the telecom infrastructure in India. If Sri

Ramachandra's line fails, the conference will be

restarted. Again, please bear with this restriction

this time.

* Sri Ramachandra Budhihal will be the moderator

for the chat. He and Dr. PrabhanjanAchArya will be

the primary speakers. All others MUST be recoginzed by

Sri Ramachandra before they can speak.

* If you want to draw attention of Sri

Ramachandra, use text window to send him text message.

* Sri Ramachandra will determine the questions

that will be answered.

* Sri Ramachandra will read the question and then

answer the questions.

* Submit any follow up questions through text

window to Sri Ramachandra. He will decide based on the

time and the amount of questions whether to take any

follow up questions.

* Questions not answered during chat session, may

be answered through e-mail postings to VMS or in a

future chat session.

* Some volunteers are taking notes of the session.

You may also record the chat session. Transcriptions

of the session will be made available later.
