With the blessings of Sri Hari Vaayugalu and Sri Sri Sugunendra Teertha

Swamiji of Puthige Mutt, Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama Yaagam for Loka Kalyana was

organized by the Hindu Mandira of Phoenix, Arizona on the 23rd of September

2001 under the adept guidance of Sri. Vaadishachar. Special prayers were

offered to the victims of the Sept. 11th incidents and this was also an

opportunity for the Indian community in Phoenix and surrounding areas to

show their support towards America. The Deputy Chief of Police of the

Phoenix Police Department, Ms. Debbie B. briefly attended the event. The

Deputy Chief spoke for a few minutes and appreciated the support by the

Indian community and also pledged that her department would strive for the

safe being of the Asian community during these tough times.

 

The Yaagam on the 23rd was the culmination of the Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama

Punascharane which was held on the 22nd of Sept. wherein numerous devotees

chanted Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama repeatedly from 7:00am until 7:00pm.

 

Sumptuous teertha-prasaada arrangements were made on both days by the very

hard-working and talented Sri. Ram Mohan Kodancha and Sri. Gajanana.
