Guest guest
Dear All Gita Jayanthi also happens to be the Aradhana day of Sri Sathyanatha Thirtha who was on the Peeta of Uttaradi Matha in the 17th century. He has written classical commentaries with prefix of Abhinava (mostly defending Sri Vyasa Thirtha's commentaries) . He was intitiated earlier with the name of Ranganatha Thirtha and was teaching at Sangli ( 30 minutes drive from Kolhapur in Maharashtra) at the brindavana of Sri Sathyavratha Thirtha, an extraordinary saint (whose grace I have felt many times, so much so, I have a special inclination towards him. There is something indescribably). Impressed with his scholarship, Sri Sathyanidhi Thirtha, gave him the Pontifical title of Sathayanatha Thirtha. Sri Sathyanatha Thirtha's brindavana is at Veeracholapuram, an hour's jeep drive from Tirukkoilur in Tamilnadu. He praises his Guru Sri SAthyanidhi thus: Anadheethya Mahaabhashyam Vyaakyathaam Yadanugrahath Vande tham Vidinaa Sathayanidhim Sadgyana Siddhaye It is said that he by his yogic powers he knew his end and sought divine grace for a day's delay so that he can complete his guru's aradhana which falls a day before Gita jayanthi. Sri Sathyanatha's disciple was Sri Sathya Abhinava whose brindavana is at Nachiarkoil off Kumbakonam in Tamilnadu. Sri Sathyanidhi Thirtha's brindavana is at Kurnool town (Pedda Market) at Andhra (shifted from Nivrriti Sangama which was submerged in construction of a dam). This brindavana complex well maintained, also houses Yoganarasimha idol worshipped by Vashista Maharishi. In addition also has Gopalakrishna idol installed by Sri Sathyaparakrama (faint recall). At the instance of Sri Sathyathma Thirtha for the last couple of years, a Panchaloha idol of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha has been installed and continously worshipped by vedic scholars to ward off dangers of various hues and world peace. Kurnool town, also has a Venkatesha and Anjaneya idol installed and woshipped by Sri Narahari thirtha and another Anjaneya idol installed by Sri Vyasa thirtha. These were not known to me, but a young man landed at Sri Sathyanidhi Thirtha's brindavana where I was waiting for the pooja to get over and took me to all these places which are within a km. At Sri Sathyanatha Thirtha's brindavana a scheme of fixed deposit (Rs 400 min I infer) the interest of which is utilised for hastodaka during birthdays, pithrudays etc Thanks Suresh
