I just forwarded this email to the VMS group, since I am not aware of other

separate Madhva related mailing lists which cater to such needs. Hope it

Dear Mr. Sudhir,

 

It has been a long time since i heard from you. Hope things are going

smoothly for you after your job changes and relocation.

 

I have been facing some problems in relocating the old couple to Udipi, for

one they are not willing to relocate; i am trying to convince them guess it

will take some time. Right now, i am shifting them somewhere closer to my

place so that commuting and taking care of them becomes easy. This year my

finance is very tight. I think again i will humbly have to ask you for help.

 

My daughter just completed her +2 and is trying for a seat in engineering

and all my resources and my husband's will be required for this. Education

is becoming enormously expensive, i need Rs 70,000 per year for her fees

alone if she takes up engineering, i.e. if she gets a seat on her merit. She

has secured 82% and chances are thin. If not, she will be taking up B.Sc. No

matter what she studies i need to keep money for her education. My husband

also like me is a lecturer in an Agriculture college and earns a very

average salary.

 

I am unable to manage to divert my finance for charitable causes on my

meagre salary of Rs 16,000. I need around Rs 4000 per month for the old

couple. If you can ask other kind folks in the U.S to share in this and you

split up about 100 dollars per month each among three of you and take on

this reponsibility for this year, it would make it easier for me.

 

This year, i would only be in a position to do physical help for the old

couple. I will see that every penny of your money is used optimally for

their welfare. The old gentleman feels his evenings are long drawn and wants

a TV. Please tell me if i should indulge in this. If you want them to write

to you, i will get them to do so in kannada, coz i want you to trust me in

whatever i am doing. Will you let me know whether you will be able to help?

If yes, then i suggest that you mail the cheque so that an amount equivalent

to Rs 4000, reaches me on the first of every month.

 

If you can extend this courtesy for this whole year every month, i would be

very grateful. For the suceeding years i will have to write to other

benevolent folks. I can only promise you that every penny of your hard

earned money is being utilized for a damn good cause and is being utilized

very optimally. If anyone would like to adopt this old couple, it would be

the best thing to happen to them. Do you think this would be possible?
