Guest guest
Dear Friends, By the grace of Sri Hari, Vayu, Gurugalu, on the last day (poornima) of the chathurmaasa, on September 22 (Saturday), Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama Homa and Sathyanarayana pooje in the morning and Dr. Nagarajrao Haveldar's Deveranaama Hindustani music concert (Sri Bhimsen Joshi style), Sathyanarayana Katha Hari Katha by Sri Vadisachar (Udupi) in the evening will take place in the august presence of His Holiness Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, Puthige Matha, Udupi in the beautiful serene grounds of Amrutha Ashrama in rural Pennsylvania about 18 miles south of Allentown. This is the major concluding function of the chathurmaasa. All are welcome for Swamiji's grand maha pooje to Sri Vittala Devaru in the morning and the sublime evening thotillu pooje in the night, the above functions all thru the day, theertha prasada (lunch) and dinner and receive the blessings of Sri Hari. Sri Vishnu Sahasranaama is quite popular even in this country. However, a homa in this land, following strict orthodox traditions to Lord Narayana, based on the sahasranaama and directly participated by the sponsors, is indeed unique. The agni prathista for this homa will take place at Sun rise and to participate in this homa at this auspicious, early morning time and to listen to the mesmerizing chanting of the Veda manthras and the glories of our supreme Lord Sri Narayana will indeed be a very memorable experience. Please do spread the word about this grand homa to all Sri Hari's bakthas to come and participate. Sankalpa will be done at the beginning for those present around Sun rise (6 am) and then at a latter time to suit those who may come late. Since it is a Poornima day, Sri Sathyanarayana Pooje on traditional lines will also be performed in the morning. Swamiji's maha pooje to Lord Panduranga Vittala and theertha prasada (lunch) to all will follow. In the evening, Sri Vadisachar will perform a Hari Katha in Kannada on Sri Sathyanarayana Katha which will be followed by the much anticipated music concert by Dr. Nagarajrao Haveldar and party. Dr. Haveldar is a deciple of Sri Madhav Gudi who in turn is a deciple of the famous Sri Bhimsen Joshi. Dr. Haveldar returns to Allentown after the very successful and memorable concert last year. Swamiji's thotilu pooje to Lord Krishna and dinner to all will follow. Free accommodations for Friday (21 Sep) and Saturday (22 Sep) are available in the ashrama as well as devotees homes in Allentown. All are welcome.
