Guest guest
Hare Srinivasa, some more interseting factson Tirupathi Srinivasa! There is an utsava Muruthi called ugra Srinivasa. He is taken out in procession only once a year before dawn. it is said that sun light falling on this muruthi will cause severe calamities especially fire. there are also other utsava muruthis: a complete set of Sri rama including Angada and Jambavan, srinivasa sets called the Bali Bera, Kautuka Bera and Utsava Bera, Krishna and Rukmini. The author says that in the begining of this temple(the Muruthi being Svayambhu) the idol was in the open air! the garbha griha was built later and then the temple developed gradually. earlier an underground stream used to flow below His feet and the water used to get collected in a metal boat. This flow of water got stopped due to some construction work nearby a few decades ago. there was a sampige(champaka) tree in the outer quadrangle once upon a time and hence the name sampangi pradakshina. there was direct access to Swamy Pushkarani from the temple with no separating walls. the panche that adorns the main idol is much longer than a regular saree! lot of Utsavas and traditions followed today are later additions to the original vaikhanasa ways of worship. .............The Lord of seven Hills and is unmatched Glory!!! regards Dilip Get Your Private, Free E-mail from Indiatimes at http://email.indiatimes.comBuy the best in Movies at http://www.videos.indiatimes.comNow bid just 7 Days in Advance and get Huge Discounts on Indian Airlines Flights.
