Guest guest
Dear Kukka Thoka, Who is a true Maadhwa? A true mAdhwa is the one who follows " mAdhwa-shuddha-paddhati " . Let us understand how Sri vAdirAja Thiirtha defines what this " mAdhwa-shuddha-paddhati " is. " harEhe bhinnatva poojyatva svAmitva pratipAdikaa nishkanTakaa mAdhwa-shuddha-paddhatischEti siddhyati " Pure mAdhwa tradition is to understand through shAstra (pratipAdikaa) that Hari is established as distinct and distinguished from everything else (bhinnatva) as giver reality to all that exists, to understand His highest position of reverence because of this (poojyatva), establishing Him as Atmaa ( swAmitva) removing all poorva-paksha that may in any way posit any other position other than this. (nishkanTakaa). I hope your question is answered. ________________________________ Jayakrishna Nelamangala - " Kukka Thoka " <kukka_thoka Thursday, January 16, 2003 11:10 PM who is a true madhva ? > > earlier i have seen an emailer claiming > himself to be a true madva. that raises > the question " who is a true madhva? Guest guest
A true Madwa is one who follows the following: 1) Who uses Gopichandana and pastes it to the body in the morning and does Sandyavandana after that 2)Who belives in Pancha bheda as propogated by Sri Madhwachaarya. 3)Who sees no difference in the various Forms or Avtaaras of Sri Hari Vishnu 4)Who belives Sri Hari is Swatantra and all the Jiivas are Paratantra. Sri Hari as iisha and the Jiivas as Daasas. Sri Hari as Swami and the Jivas as Sewakas 5)Who shows enormous Bhakthi towards Sri Hari. regards Gururaj --- " Jay N. Guest guest
There two important things to be observed: 1)A study of Sri Madwacharyas writings, and trying to understand them as per our *capacity*. 2)Second most important thing is to practice mental and physical descipline. It is a common thing known to everybody that a healthy mind and a healthy body is very important to achive spiritual or material goals. This is where activities like Sandhyavandane in the mornings(if possible three times a day) should be done. This keeps our mind cheerfull and healthy. Only then we can concentrate better and understand Sri Madwacharyas preachings. In fact Sri Madwacharya being a Jeevotamma and an Avatar of Mukhyaprana, had shown exemplary mental and physical capabilities, worth emulating as per our *capacities*. regards Gururaj --- " Jay N.
