Guest guest
Dear friends, Apparently some ardent advocates of extreme views on Rjuthva of Sri Vadiraja feel that it is better to let this issue get debated by scholars in a " proper " forum, as this is not one suitable for the purpose. May be their passionate advocacy has cooled down after noting the adverse reaction of Madhvas in general to any manifestations of chauvinistic views. I think that I will be too happy personally to rest at peace, as appropriate to my age and state of knowledge. I for one can not lightly pass judgements on issues on which I know that I am ignorant - " where angels fear to tread " . But, I want to repeat again what I consider as a consensus of most of us - the ugly incidents reported widely in news papers about strong arm tactics against some persons advocating Rjuthva of Saint Vadiraja must never repeat again and must be condemned by all thinking persons. The attitude of " I know all " must be gradually given up to one of considerate study of all pramanas - including those in our mother tongue, by Aparoksha jnanis who chose to deliver their thoughts in that medium. If one chooses to go only by guidelines issued by some authorities without question, the same right should be given to others also who accept some others also as authorities. In short, there should be fairplay, openmindedness and clear thinking, with faith in the Lord and our Moola Guru, Mukhya Prana. I think that the suggestions given by Sri Vasumurthy that this debate be discontinued here for now and if there are issues which need airing and discussion, they should be looked at in a more restrcited forum is well taken and I will personally adhere to it. Read my very first post on this issue, if you ignored it earlier " Parties involved may need to sit and have Shastric-vada and prove their(disprove other's) points, rather than trying to evole 'consensus'. This forum may very well ban such discussions as most of us(not me atleast) do not have the panditya/yogyata to make a point. " Hope it's clear to you now that mine, atleast, was not a CHANGE of stand. > May be their passionate advocacy has cooled down after > noting the adverse reaction of Madhvas in general to any > manifestations of chauvinistic views. Again some of you are talking like representatives of Madhvas, come one guys you're not. Live out of this mental block. Most Madhvas I interaacted with did not have any 'adverse reactions' on this issue. By the way just because your views are 'chauvinistic' any view that's opposed to yours need not be so. > But, I want to repeat again what I consider as a consensus of most > of us - the ugly incidents reported widely in news papers about > strong arm tactics against some persons advocating Rjuthva of Saint > Vadiraja must never repeat again and must be condemned by all > thinking persons. May I kindly know which news paper reported this? > The attitude of " I know all " must be gradually given up Charity starts at home! > If one chooses to go only by guidelines issued by some authorities > without question, the same right should be given to others > also who accept some others also as authorities. Who has take away that right? If that right was ever take away would you be able to say so much? > In short, there should be fairplay, openmindedness and clear > thinking, with faith in the Lord and our Moola Guru, Mukhya Prana. This statement is based on the egotistic assumption that, you are having all these qualioties while others don't. And this in itself is neither failrplay nor openmindedness. Anyway I'm slowly realizing that interaction with 'some' people is futile, waste of time, and may even be undesired.
