Guest guest
Sir, In the fight to prove/disprove the svarUpa of the greats like Sri vAdirAja and other yathigaLu, alas, we seem to have betrayed our own svarUpa. May be those of us quarrelling about this topic should consider carrying out this " net rage " with personal emails. And while we are at it, let us kindly see which one of the ariSadvarga happens to be particularly friendly to us at this time! I am sure there will be some puNya accruing to all our accounts for putting an end to this spectacle. BTW, any postings related to job openings ;-) " manasu kAraNavalla pApapuNyakkella anaLAkSha ninna prEraNe illade " saprEma namaskAragaLu prabhu
Guest guest
Dear KrishNabhaktas, It is sad to see the personal attacks in this forum. My preference is for this forum to be free, self-regulating and helping us in our sAdhana. It looks like that is not possible at this stage. I don’t get to read the e-mails in this forum every day. We have other things to do to feed us and our families. As I said personal attacks are not allowed in this forum. ANY ONE POSTING A RESPONSE OR REPLY CONTAINING PERSONAL ATTACKS WILL LOSE THE POSTING PRVILEGES IMMEDIATELY AT THIS POINT. THIS THREAD NEEDS TO STOP AT THIS POINT. ANY ONE POSTING ON THIS THREAD TOMORROW WILL ALSO LOSE POSTING PRIVILEGES. I am sorry to take such drastic actions, but I have no other choice. This thread has gone from debating a valid issue into an e-mail flame war. I understand that this has touched an emotional issue, but we need to be more responsible. We need to emulate the example of sri NAPS Rao who posted a well reasoned, dispassionate view of the problem. Such posts cause serious thinking and elevate the debate. There is room for reasoned debate here, but not personal attacks and flame wars. Another point of nettiquette is never express negative emotions in an e-mail. E-mail is an impersonal medium. Face-to-face or phone communications convey lot more in terms of facial and vocal expressions. In e-mail, there is none of the these nuances. The readers usually take the most radical interpretation of any negative remarks. I had assumed that people know all these points about e-mail communications. Apparently not! I will start a separate thread on the VMS philosophy list on the issue stated by Sri NAPS Rao of the acceptance of pramANAs from HaridAsaas, once the current hubub ends. To close this post on a better note, let me talk about a new magazine on Indian philosophy and yoga that I came across. Its name is “nAmarUpa”. It calls itself magazine of “Categories of Indian thought”. It is beautifully produced with many glossy pictures of Indian spiritual places. It contains many articles on Yoga styles such as ashTanga yoga and related topics. This was the premier issue. I was happy to find an article on the sri MadhvAchArya’s tattvaviveka by Sri Deepak Sarma of PPVM. (Is he related to Sri BNK Sharma? Does anybody know?) It is a well written article. Author draws comparison to concept of independence of vishNu in mAdhva philosophy and that of Thomas Aquinas in the West. Website is namarupa.org and contains brief excerpt of the article. Article also mentions that Sri Deepak Sharma is coming up with a book called “ An introduction to madhva vedAnta” published by Ashgate Publishing, London. jayati harih achintyah...
